The problem is too many people nowadays think the middle lane is for slow speed.
I often drive in the far right lane. Especially when there are 3 lanes, people get in the middle lane and sit there; it's their lane, and by god, they're not going to get out of it. More and more semi's seem to be doing the same thing. The far right lane is often empty.
I was always taught that slow traffic is to keep right. If you're in a middle or left lane and people are passing you, you need to move to the right. But no one seems to do that anymore. So I pass on the right. If you're bothered by people passing on your right, I'd suggest you move to the right.

Best thing about driving in right lane at 62 mph everybody passes you and you never catch up to anybody and just keep cruising also. Later RJD

I'd LOVE TO! On multi lane freeways, I try to!! But I can't get over there because all the Hair On Fire guys zip around me to the right. I call 'em Zippers.
Stay in the right lane on I-285 in Atlanta and you'll soon be exiting when you didn't want to.

Usually true, yes.
But not always. First, this is only true on 4 lane freeways. Most of 'em yes, but not all.
Second, there is always that truck pulling way overweight, or Harold Joe hauling trash between 3 exits, that is going 40 mph in the right lane. I try to stay behind them. But if it's for 100 miles, that's hard.

On interstates, I drive at exactly the same 62mph, just like aceinspp.
And, for the record.....
We never have anyone pass us on the right
Hardly ever have to disengage the cruise control
Always seem to have a nice safety space cushion ahead
Can see brake lights way up ahead and hardly ever use mine by just slowing
Never feel pressured by traffic volume
Get the best gas mileage possible....constantly 7-8mpg, towing or not
However......
I’ve never seen aceinspp on the trip....even though we may have taken the exact same route
Go figure.

Wait until you are going East through Rapid City, SD and at the last entrance ramp on the East side of town some old lady pulls on the freeway ahead of you in her old Dodge station wagon, then proceeds to drive what seems like forever while centering her her hood ornament on the line between the only two lanes. Oh yeah, exactly 10 mph below the speed limit. No choice of whether to pass on left or right. She had 'em both covered
All you can do is hope a State Trooper sees her or "her exit" arrives soon. In SD however, both are in short supply.

Yeah.
Which brings up another interesting question.
My wife and I are still looking for the FIRST person who actually knows how to merge into traffic on an entrance ramp to a freeway........... Is there one?

What really upsets me is during the summer (beach area here) you will be passed on the shoulder of the road at about 75mph. Just imagine if someone had a flat tire and was there changing it.

What upsets me is when people enter freeway and cut off 2 or 3 cars to get in left lane then drive 10 miles under the limit. See this often in Mi.

Why does it have to be an old Dodge? Is it because the old people learned the other brands don’t cut it?

Grandpa insisted Gumsmoke was the only show worth watching and his 1967 Plymouth Belvedere with a 3 on the tree was in the two car garage that cost more than his house. Same here he is gone and his car lives on with my Uncle.
