He or she is probably tired of getting door dings fixed. Keeps the dirtbags far enough away. I like it.

If they don't exceed the max vehicle width they are.

I believe in my state it's 8' plus a few more inches for mirrors.

Something that stands out as much as it does has probably been stopped and measured so many times there is probably a police bulletin out telling all officers it's legal so they don't get sued for harassment.

Legal? Most likely.

Smart or Practical, not so much.

If he's over 102" wide that would make it illegal. In NJ any portion of the wheel or tire cannot extend pass the fender lip on any vehicle.

Police would not have time for anything else if ticketing for tires past wheel wells. Today I saw a Hummer 2 and often see trucks with tires way beyond,,,

Folks here were asking about legality and I answered on my experiences. Enforcement is officer discretion and in NJ sometimes you drive away with a summons.
Some people will just pay the ticket with the thought that it's just the price they're willing to pay to kill their hub bearings and sling water and mud all over the side of their trucks.

As the saying goes, some will learn by reading the signs and listening to others. There are always those who will just have to pee on the fence to find out if it's really on.

My son, when in his 20's head a jacked up Toyota pickup. Kept telling him he was doing the u-joints (4x4) no favors. He gave the universal answer "haven't had any problems with them".

Then, started getting calls that went like "Dad, dropped a driveline and u-joints broken, can you come tow me back to my house"?

After the 3rd call in 2 months, 6" of lift was removed. I didn't say a word, just helped him remove the extra springs.

This was at St. Joseph Peninsula SP FL. last week. I believe the owner said it was a 1964. Didn't get to check out the inside, but the step and screen door were finished like a Chris Craft motor boat.

TitanMike.....

I’ve heard a variation of your son’s universal answer for years on certain topics.

However....their sentence always ends with the word “yet”

“Yet” just comes to different people at different times....and most often, their time has just not come “yet”.

That is really cool looking. To me it looks like a good winter camper especially in Florida. I live in the Pinellas County area and I wouldn't want to be in a tin can in the summer time for sure.
