So, I had a brainy idea, I got up on the roof (almost got blown off the roof) and took my belt off my pants and bound the awning against the RV.

As I was coming back off the roof down the ladder, my pants fell down.

Got 3 horn honks before I reached the bottom rung! LOL

Oh man!

Good idea with the belt but somewhat funny consequences, glad your pants did not cause you to fall off the ladder....

That picture does not do real justice to how bad the awning really was/is

The thing looked like it delaminated and looked to be twice as big as it should have been.

Saw it in a Pilot TS in AZ.

Had my slide out topper roll out in a huge wind in Wisconsin once. Was by myself.

Was able to get onto an off ramp. Ran my slide all the way out went on top of coach and pulled the topper the rest of the way out --then let it back in to get it lined up right. Ran the slide back in. Still ok today. Lucky I guess.

Glad I didn't have to use my belt!!

On the the same trip just outside of Pendleton, Oregon, The high winds took out my driver slide topper. No fixing that as I only had one belt with me. Limped into Pendleton and bought some zip ties at a truck stop and singed everything together on both sides and got my belt back in my pants.

I bought a package of 550 para cord at Walmart for issues like that, I prefer to keep my belt in the keepers...

That's a fact. Reminded me of when I was younger and we were having a flat on a trailer in the middle of nowhere. My BIL had a string plug kit, with a tube of this tar/glue you put on the plug first before inserting it into the tire. Things is, he had used all the string plugs previously and just had the glue and tool to insert the plug with.

As I stood there laughing, asking what did he plan to do now, he pulled out a pocket knife, and cut my shoe laces off. Dipped it in the glue and put it in the tire. It got us home.

He never did buy me another pair of laces, either.
