Is it ironic he is at a buffet shareholder meeting, and drives a product not owned by FR? (i understand they probably don’t make a similar product)

Yeah, grill bars on the bus and Buick go across without the piece in the middle, which the Desoto has.

It's Neil Young's rig and the grille is Buick.

Neil Young's a big Buick fan; his song Long May You Run was written about his 1948 Buick hearse.

Long May You Run by Neil Young Songfacts

which he just sold at auction in December, along with his Buick Skylark convertible:

Yup. That is the Mor-Ride dual wheel setup. Cannot call the weight police on that unit.

Geez, what is inter-ply shear like on that setup? Seems like it would eat tires if you make many sharp turns.

I wouldn't think it's any worse than running triple axles. The farther apart the spread of the axles; The rougher it is on the tires. I've never worried about it on my trailer when I have to haul into a city but I also have 14ply bias tires on mine, They are tough as can be. 9-12k load capacity per axle. You see the same setup on lots of equipment trailers, I didn't know there were 5ers with that setup though.. that would be perfect for a toy hauler

Newmar was the only builders that did that, very heavy trailer but was one of the better builders, wish they would go back to building 5th wheels not just motor homes.

To answer your question, the stresses are close to half of what a conventional tandem axle single wheel setup. The weight is distributed over twice the surface area so they seem to have a far easier time.
My 5er flatbed dually tandem 20k capacity hardly even flexes the sidewalls in a turn compared to my other 5er single wheel trailer which in a sharp turn looks like the tires are going to rip from the wheel. Neither one eats tires thanks to a proper alignment & LTs.

Come on, it looks like his table, did you ever take a dog to a groomer? Looks the same to me. I have never saw a public table like that, but that's just my own opinion. I'll have to blow it up to see for sure.

Apparently we have a new seasonal camper at our CG. I guess the deck came with the site.
