And lastly, they had these "slide supports" at the front and rear of the slideout.
The good: they're still camping.
The bad: poor rig lived a hard life.

They stopped where they did because it’s a car.
If it had been an SUV, there’s no telling how much further they would have continued.

One thing about it... you know it isn't a Schwintek type slide out... it wouldn't have lasted that long.

I could start a photo album of rigs like that. I own a lake lot at a small (~500 acre) private lake. It was a really 'going' place back in the 70's-80's. Lots of families made really nice weekend getaways down there. Things started going downhill in the 90's as the meth epidemic swept through Missouri. Lots of meth-heads and cooks figured out they could live there very cheaply with no routine police patrols. Many families just flat stopped going there.
In about the last 5 years, it has really turned around. Most of the 'unsavory' types are gone, and people are buying lots left and right and fixing them up into nice places. The downside is there are TONS of "abandoned" places down there. Most with campers on them. It was not unusual for a brand new camper to be hauled in and set up, never to move again. Beautiful old 70's-80's vintage road queens that are now just so much garbage. Lots of smaller units too. I even had one on my lot when I bought it. No idea on make, model or year, but the license plate on it expired in 1983.
There's a 2005 Coachman 30 footer on the lot next to my buddy. According to him, its only been used twice. They bought it new, came down two weekends that year, and never came back. He is in the process of buying that lot from them and the camper is utterly ruined. It still has the mold 'tits' on the tires, but I wouldn't take it for free, it's in that bad of shape.
As we drive around, you can see there were some sections that were quite popular 'back in the day' that are virtual ghost towns now. It breaks my heart knowing that some people busted their humps making a nice place for their families and now its just ruins. I sometimes worry that mine will go the same way.
Tim

And even with the cement blocks and the floor jack, it's awfully crooked.

You may remember two weekends ago, I posted a couple of pictures of a GMC. Well, this weekend (and yes, the weekend begins on Thursday) that same GMC is parked right next to us.

Just watched a guy in a Minnie Winnie drive off with his power cord connected to the pedestal. Ouch!
