Sigh, reminds me to travel 378 miles to be sure our 5er is winterized before I can’t get to ‘er. SIGH.

At a bar just outside our campground at Dead Horse State Park in AZ.

I think it was a biker mobile club house.

You think those Goodyears are the same as the ones you and I could pick up at the tire store? When you buy 4 you get what they sell. When you buy 40,000 you can have exactly what you want in terms of how much quality (and therefore, how expensive)

Firestone went through that years ago with the explorer roll-over issue. Turns out the OEM tires that Ford put on the Explorer were inferior to the consumer tires they sell to regular people.

I bet you start hearing stories in the near future about "Goodyear bombs" on jaycos.

I don’t believe that for a second. ST tires are made on such a small scale compared to car tires there’s no way they are building Endurances to different standards.

He is correct. Also if you compare tire tread depth from Sam's or Costco to a more price tire store for what they sa it is the same tire the tread depth is not the same.

And don't forget, Chinese manufacturers is good at putting brand names on some of their products. It's in the news at least once a year.

X2! Although these things deteriorate fast enough. I don't want to drive it in snow and especially in salt.

Nice RV shelter though

You don't have to believe it for it to be true. But you can bet your bippy that Jayco is setting the quality standards on those tires, not Goodyear. Compare sidewall numbers (especially treadwear index) from Jayco OEM tires to Tire Store tires.

You really need to do a research about the Ford-Firestone issue. Among the main reasons were the Ford recommendations to lower tire pressure 10 psi so the vehicle would have a lower CG and the extreme labor unrest at the Illinois factory. Wilderness tires from other factories on other Fords were trouble free.

ST tires do not have a treadwear index rating.
Tireman, where are you? Care to comment on this as you do every other tire thread?

Well technically this isn't a tire thread

The real problem was not the lowered tire pressure for "Ride Comfort", it was the 3 inches wider track that the engineers wanted and the designers vetoed. They had problems with replacement tires of other brands too. The tires failed due to the pressure and then the narrow track helped the role-over.

I bet they are exactly like the Goodyear tires you buy at Tirerack or Discount Tire or anywhere else. Goodyear probably gave them a good deal on the tires as advertisement.

I have seen a tire in an RV park - many, as a matter of fact... but I think you're onto something about this thread "drift".
