My wife was just near the Huntington Beach State Park campground while visiting her uncle and sent me a link. Looked great. Can you elaborate on the place? I know its not topic related to this post. So if PM would be better I would appreciate it.

Quick side story- you see that tree on the right side in the back by the other unit? We’ve been coming here so long that when that tree was planted, my dogs dug it up and split it between themselves while we slept. So I ended up replanting both halves before camphost came by. Both trees are doing well 4+ years later!

Stubborn trees.

You lucked out, but you did the right thing! A couple years ago we were camped on an Indian Reservation, beautiful CG with lots of fruit trees. Across the street a young man, probably around age 10 proceeded to take a hatchet to several of the fruit trees. Along comes the Tribal Police, who patrol the CG routinely, and catch the young man in the act. Mom, Dad and the youngun' get a ride over to see the Tribal Magistrate. $500 later and an order to vacate, they were gone. Not a good weekend for that family.

LOL. Makes one wonder was the kid a George Washington type?
I know, that is folklore. I am not sure history is really clear whether or not President Washington really did chop down that Cherry tree.

10 year old with a hatchet? What could possibly go wrong?
Maybe Mom and Dad will pay more attention to what their kid is doing and what he's doing it with (although that seems to be a parenting method from long past generations).

Give a child a hammer, and all the world becomes a nail. The saying pretty much works with a hatchet, too.

My DW and I really like the place. They have two sections. One is well established with grass or dirt RV parking areas and has limited hookups. (My picture was taken in the older section) The other just opened this spring and has concrete pads with full hookups. We stayed at the new section. We were three pads away from a cement and wood pathway to the beach. It was a very enjoyable experience.

This wasn't in an RV park, but he was surely looking for one. Yes, that is an Edsel car with an overhead camper in Wilson, Kansas.

I have actually seen 2 of those style campers long ago (late 60’s-early ‘70’s) Neighbor had one on a Galaxy 500. Saw another at Lakeport state park in Michigan. They were purpose built to go onto cars and seemed to be easily detached once at your site.
Looks great on the Edsel, tho!

I talked with the owner and he said that they were purpose built in a factory near Wilson, KS back in the day. He claimed that he bought it new. It was attracting a lot of attention.

I like it, but it needs a tank-car for rum and cokes.

Maybe that's why the cars are missing, they're off to the brewery to be refilled.
