I believe you are referring to a common used siding developed by James Hardy. Trade name of it is HardiBoard. I see it every day in a variety of buildings. And yes, it is a cement based material.

No TV seen till next morning when pulling out, two Expedition/Suburban be sized vehicles but don't know which one be was TV. Looks scary to me.

I have heard that those are pretty good and take all of the load. I cant speak for experience but its kind of kool.

Not a lot of tongue weight, so doesn't impact payload as much. But does increase the towed weight.

Unless I miss my guess, in Kalifornia, that is considered to be a trailer in its own right - requiring its own license and insurance. At least it is/was that way for commercial trucking.
