Back on topic.
Camped next to us in Boardman, OR. It is a 1971 Shasta. Shasta stopped the “wings” in 1969. Owner said he has found wings on EBay, but for over $100. Current owner has owned it 3 years and is upgrading it with new appliances, etc. They live in Vancouver, WA and have been on the road for 2+ weeks.

A two-tone winged Shasta with a matching Chevy Nomad is my dream rig.

I saw a very similar unit this weekend and was struck by just how many windows they packed into such a small unit. When we were shopping for our new camper a few years ago, I was bummed at how few windows many of the campers have these days, especially on awning side. It seems like the idea of being inside the camper and wanting to be able to look out at your site is totally foreign.

I stopped to take a nice picture of the mud covered road and sunset in Palo Duro Canyon SP outside of Amarillo, TX:

Turns out, this caught a picture of one of the 10-12 tarantulas that we saw walking around.

RIGHT?! I was fine when we saw a bunch out on the road leading back to the campground (it's 8 miles from the SP entrance to our campground).

It got a lot less funny when we saw one 4-5 sites down.

And even less funnier when friends told us they saw one on the site next to us!

Couple that with the stress of me having 3 bins that live outside under the rear of the camper that get moved into the garage on move days.

I'm glad I read that AFTER we left. "They throw belly barbs when frightened."

That's why I'm careful not to ever frighten one!
