Things you see in an RV Park

I did mention the low branches at the office but I don’t know if they ever did anything about it. I wouldn’t have the nerve to actually cut anything off a tree. I’d ask for a different site if the campground wasn’t prepared to trim the branches themselves.

Saw something similar in an Arizona State Park about 4 years ago, only he was using a powered chain saw. Almost completely cut down what should have been his afternoon shade.

We were at a state park. Host was 2 sites over. He called the Ranger. Was not able to hear the conversation but tree trimming stopped.

Wish I was the ranger because that guy would have been escorted OUT of the park and told don't ever come back and made sure his name, vehicle and rig were posted in the park system.

Yes, of course that is the proper way to handle it. I had overhanging limbs sitting on the roof of my fiver at a private CG here in NC. I contacted the owner and he came and trimmed both trees to fix the issue. I do carry heavy duty trimmers all the time and in the past have needed to use them, but going through the CG management is the best way to handle it.

We camped at Twin Mountain KOA in NH last year and the guy who led us to our site had a camp saw and sawed branches for us on the spot as we situated our trailer. I'm guessing most campground owners would oblige if you pointed out the hazards to them or relocate you to another site.

Was parked next to a trailer with a creative install on an X-Chock. Their sewer setup was also interesting, though why the park setup the sewer as they did. They do have enough hose.

I have seen parks like that. I can't imagine what was going through their mind when they did the construction and utilities install,... unless there is some silly local code that requires them to be elevated.

They just wanted a trap in their hose! Kinda looks like he was pulled in the wrong way and was using the adjacent sites sewer connection except that it would be awfully close.

You are correct about the Codes,we have been to several RV parks that the Sewer inlet was 12+ inches Above the surrounding area,and Way higher than our RV sewer outlet! I went to the office to ask about this and they said," Just pull up on the PVC pipe there is a slip coupler at ground level where you place your sewer hose"! Had to do with Flood Zone Codes! Youroo!!

I have seen these before. Like this site not all have slip covers though. The worst was fishing bridge in Yellowstone. Not only was it raised over a foot it was smack in the middle of the site. I ended up just using once as a dump station when I left because I could not connect my hose under the camper.

Glad I did not step on one of these running around barefoot on site. The red velvet ant is actually in the wasp family & referred to as the cow killer due to the pain associated with its sting! All over the campground....
