Campground on the beach last weekend ... cool watching the tractor pull campers out right in front of our beach tent & past the turtle nests. Then a bit sad but entertaining watching a gentleman come whipping into one of the sites (that the campground parks you at so you don't get stuck) only to get hung up on the septic sewer after taking out the electric pole

His biggest problem will be all the cars that generally line the streets.

They most likely not camping with that anyway. Just moving from point A to point B.

Russell
It's really more about the relative distance between the pivot point and the axles. if the steering axle is closer to the pivot point than the trailer axle - backing is a breeze. But if the trailer wheelbase is short compared to truck wheelbase, backing can get really hard.

A 30 foot bumper pull behind one of those OTR semi tractors with the king size sleeper would be just as hard to back as the jet ski trailer behind a pickup mentioned above.

Hmmm...I'd like to see the truck's front axle weight before and after hooking up the trailer!

Probably not any real issue. His heavy motor sitting up there right on the front axle.

So, did he hit it with the slide? Looks awfully suspicious to me. Click image for larger version

I stay in a campground that decided to put wooden posts in stupid places. Many of said posts show signs of being hit multiple times. It's not uncommon to see those posts sitting crooked like the electric post in this pic.

Having said that, I've rarely seen electric posts with that kind of problem...

They may not have hit it with the slide but they very well could have 'adjusted' the pedestal so it wouldn't hit, rather than move the R/V.

I seen a guy do that with the frost free water spigot once and broke it right off.

What a mess until the campground folks got the water turned off, ground dug up and the frost free spigot replaced.

When they asked him what happened he claimed it broke while trying to attach his hose. I set the campground owners straight afterwards and they said they knew better anyways when they seen his slide.

Don't see any dents or marks on the slideout. Someone else may have done that to the power pole.

I’m guilty of one in Nebraska. I parked, she hit it!

We work well as a team.

Sumter, SC is my hometown. Moved to Durham, NC in '91. That place has really grown.

I grew up in Camden and have lived in Sumter since 2001. On my way to Wateree Lake even as we speak!

It doesn't look like that new bridge will carry much weight. But you never know about the magic of leprechauns after they put the pot o' gold at the end.

My uncle's parents had a place at Wateree. I went there once. My aunt and uncle lived in Camden up until 3 or 4 years ago. My sister and mother still live in Sumter.
