I try not to judge... well out loud anyway, but common sense would prevail. It appears he has never towed a trailer or he was horribly distracted. Been there and done that.

There’s a guy who spent the night sick to his stomach, I’m certain. I feel for them.

I would imagine that ended their anticipated adventure into the RV life. Better to run over inanimate objects than run over someone out on the road.
I wonder how they even got out of the dealer parking lot.

Makes you wonder, if an electronic device was in use, and distracted their attention!

Yikes! My issue when I first started towing things (not necessarily RVs) was being too cautious and taking turns too wide until I got the hang of things. Did he not use his mirrors at all?

Assess the situation
Why didn’t he/she stop as soon as they hit the curb to assess the situation? This could have been a simple hit the curb and had to back up instead of this nightmare. I’ll admit in a crowded gas station I clipped the back corner on the yellow stake. As soon as I saw it I stopped got out to figure out whether to go forward or back. Had to go forward so I had a 6 inch long yellow mar in my bottom trim molding. Fortunately, a magic eraser solved my problem. Lesson learned—wait for the better pump.
It sure would be helpful if you had to take a driving test before they let you drive off with the new rv.
Sure hope the insurance company was called before driving off the lot.
This may be the first and only trip this new RVer ever takes.

Did they even have tow mirrors?
Did they know how to use mirrors?
As I work in an 8000 sq km park in Ontario we see 30 to 50% of trailer owners have inadequate mirrors for the size of trailer they are towing.
Late September an ambulance was stuck behind a fiver without extendable mirrors, stuck for five kms, they didn't know there was an ambulance behind them. Four tickets later they were allowed to continue. The paramedics were en-route to a hyperthermic canoe victim.
This is our busiest season with fall colours.

I also had the yellow mark. First pull with a new long trailer, pulled in for gas, looked like I would make it, nope. Got out and looked, had to keep going. Other than the yellow addition i wiped off the middle marker light. Not to expensive in dollars, however wife used that to give me crap for years. First day of ownership and first trip.

Could be they tow just like they drive....completely oblivious to anything around them. One time I saw a state trooper inches behind a car in the fast lane if an interstate, lights and siren blazing. He was trying to get past to go to some scene or another. Finally the person noticed the trooper and hit the brakes.

I see simular incidents happen at least once a year. But usually they hit another camper....................... and by morning they skip town and back to their state and never pay a dime for damages even with a police report.

The owner had just purchased the rig, his first, two hours previously. Not a fun way to begin your RV life.
They had to call out one of the big rig tow trucks to lift the trailer off of the fire hydrant. Unfortunately the large boom they had suspended above the trailer made hard contact with the AC unit damaging it and the roof.
Further damage was plumbing ripped off the underside of the trailer and a flat tire caused by the steel pipe embedded in concrete that was supposed to be protecting the fire hydrant.

Cannot believe lifting the trailer didn't damage something? I see the upper spreader, but?
Guy's having a long day.

Onward to more fun things you find in a campground... like the back of our camper after the beer tasting weekend (OK... 4 days & nights) we had.... missing a few of the bottles (guy took them to build in to his tiki bar) but you shouldn't find a duplicate in there.
Always a challenge to bring beers others have not yet tried ....

Somehow you misplaced all of our invitations. An oversight, I’m sure.
