Ran across this restored camper at Woolly Hollow SP, Arkansas. Gentleman and his wife are very nice and accomodating. He restored the 1965 model over time. He said he had no clue how long it took. Here are some pics.Click image for larger version

I guess I am fortunate to have grown up on a farm and pulled many items behind a tractor. Later, when in school had a part time job at a salvage yard so hauled many cars behind a wrecker ... then owner got a 40' flat bed so hauled cars with that. And a few years later, started hauling mobile homes .. up to 16' wide and 85' long. Hauled about 100 per year for some 12 years and never had an accident although did have a few tight corners where had to plank and jack the mobile home to get around the corner.
Pulling a 30' camper behind a crew cab pickup is a piece of cake given past experience.

Easy way to get a toy hauler if you already had a popup and a tandem axle trailer..

Maybe he got a good deal on a unit that had a bent axle or broken springs.

Also, lots of room for firewood.

My neighbor had a LPG powered GMC Topkick with a Palimino popup mounted on the bed. He removed the front bunk and set up a wind generator on a plate stuck under the rear wheel.

I think I posted the picture before, but here it is again.

Drying the slides

I've seen a lot but this is a new one for me. Missouri folks pulled in late yesterday in a pull through spot down one from us with and an open site between us. This morning as we had some fog overnight and this AM but no rain I saw the man on his ladder with an electric leaf blower drying the slides off of his Solitude. No debris falling from slides and the fifth wheel had no slide toppers. Wish I had taken photo.

That's a lot of truck for a pop-up!

I thought it was odd too. I saw a guy with a coach, don’t remember brand, about 2 weeks ago at Willow Beach near Little Rock, AR and he used the leaf blower and dried it every day. The guy also dried his toad every day too. And then another guy across from him did the same thing after washing his. I decided both of these guys needed more to do in their lives.

I used to use a leaf blower on my motorcycle after I washed it. It got water out of places I would not able to reach with a drying towel.

I have also used a leaf blower to blow out the basement of the fifth wheel. Open doors on both sides, blow, and out goes all that crap (dirt, sand, leaves etc.) that had been collecting in there.

Never used it to dry the roof or sides of the RV. Crazy.
