Our dog enjoys being outside. I work from home, and my office is directly off our patio. Most mornings I play door man for the dog and let the dog in and out multiple times. My neighbor next door claims I leave my dog out in the heat. She never says it directly to me, but she has told it to multiple neighbors around me. That really bothers me because this lady has no concept of the truth. She is a dog lover and she feels that somehow I am not up to her standards. Again, she does not know the truth.

So, I guess I say all of that to say we do have to be careful in making our judgments about a situation. It is always possible that we do not know all of the facts. When I look at the picture of the dog, I am not able to determine if there is any issue at all. I have no idea how long the dog has been there or why the dog is there. Could there be a situation where the dog is there for its own safety, such as there is a fire going that the owner is helping with? Again, hard to say from just a picture. I guess I want to see things in a good light first and then only go to the bad side when there is a compelling reason to do so.

My first thought when I saw the dog picture was that it was a staged picture because of the "Quality Neighborhood" printing on the barrel.

Confession... sometimes the ASPCA commercials make me tear up.
I love dogs. I have 3 dogs outside in partially shaded fenced yard. They have a dog house I built for them. It is 6 x 8 ft and has a 5K window unit(in a window) and a 1500 watt electric heater(on a shelf). I only turn the a/c on when it is a 100 or more and the heater when it gets below 30ish. They all hate the storms and you won't see them if it is storming.

Not actually in a park, but can anyone explain why you need a slide topper UNDER your awning?

It makes sense to me... I always had the slides out, but not the awning.

Because I do use the slide outs but seldom bother with the awning. And because FR built it that way...

Now back to our thread........................
Being this thread is about things seen in RV Parks by members here, it didn't seem likely the OPs dog was in the picture. Maybe if it had been posted in the thread about our pets we bring with us. No need to get rude, really. The dog looked tied up, which can leave it vulnerable. That's what meant. I'm a animal lover and get concerned. Maybe we should just drop it.

So wait- because it's tied out (regardless of anything else), animal control should be called???

Don't a vast majority of dog owners do that at some time or another? Is there really a case where 100% of the time, the dog is leashed with a person holding it or off-leash (and the dog is never, not even for a moment, attached to something other than a human)? Seems awfully excessive.

That reminds me of 2 things:

1) The guy who had a motorhome and pulled a trailer filled with huge bird cages for parrots at Pecan Park in Jacksonville, FL

2) The campground in Spring, TX that had 4 or 5 parrots in big cages that they wheeled in and out of the store each day.
