This is the first thing I thought of:

A Silverado is bad enough; I'd hate to lose a motorhome!!

When I had a boat I had a tilt trailer. I never backed into the water any deeper that just over the bottom of the rim. I winched the boat on and off the trailer. When I bought the trailer I was told "remember there is no such thing as a water proof wheel bearing".

[derail]

I should start a "Things you see at the boat ramp" thread on my boating forum. I swear I could plop down a lawn chair, have a beverage, and spend the whole day watching the wobble-heads at the boat ramp.

Favorite one: Two extremely redneck, borderline inebriated, gentlemen launched a decrepit old bass boat with a S-10 with no two body panels the same color. While gent #1 went off to park the truck/trailer, Gent #2 is slowly idling around in circles waiting. At some point, he smacked the concrete ramp with the prop and it killed the motor, he tried many times to get it going, and it would start, but each time he dropped it into gear, it would die again as he was still wedged on the ramp. By the way, did I mention that they neglected to put in the drain plug.

So while they are trying to figure out the motor, the boat slowly sinks. Now the thing is sunk there on the ramp, full of water up to the seatbacks. The cursing back and forth at each other was fluent, if unoriginal. Their first bright idea was to try to load it at that position. All that water weighs a lot, so they don't have enough muscle to winch it on the trailer. Their next big idea is to push the boat back down the ramp far enough to get a trailer under it before it sinks some more. It took them three tries at that before they were successful, going deeper and deeper until the poor little s-10 was in the water halfway up the door. You could hear the radiator fan hitting the water. At no time did it dawn on them to put the drain plug back in to prevent further sinkage.

They eventually haul the boat out, inch by inch, burning tires and clutch all the way up the ramp, and wait for it to drain. They finally get their gear and coolers all arranged the way they want, and re-launch the boat. Gent #1 sets a world record for parking the truck and runs down and jumps in the boat and off they went like they were on fire, breaking the "no wake" rule at the ramp for good measure.

At that point, my buddy who is watching the whole spectacle with me, turns to me and says, "ya know, I didn't see them ever put the drain plug in". I realized that he was right and I called the water patrol to let them know that they would soon be fishing those guys out of the water.

This was all in the days before we had cameras on our cell phones. I wish that I would have had a video. That was probably the most entertaining hour I have ever spent at the ramp.

In that small space, possibly more effective than factory air....and better on the gas mileage.

Being rear-ended will send it into the bed (think whip-lash). I'd be more worried about hitting someone else, sending it into the passenger compartment.

Most likely one hellish big inverter. Probably still cheaper than getting the factory air fixed.

You're right. Looking closer, it does appear the windows are down, so the Dodge factory air is working.

Saw this at a campground near Dallas last week. A/C in the front, electric, water and sewer hookups. Did not see the inside or anyone around it.
