Sucked through the hole? Really? C'mon. How do people ever survive riding in Jeeps. These reporters nowadays.
Horrible experience for all no doubt.

"Sucked through the hole" sells a lot more newspapers than "Fell out."

My wife, while getting treatment for her cancer, had an appointment for a CT Scan at a branch clinic of the hospital treating her. Their CT Scan equipment was mounted in a large semi-trailer with a similar step up (and down). They solved the issue by just installing a lift gate on the side and used it as an elevator. Worked slick. For a smaller device a wheel chair lift would do the trick too.

As for the awning issue, electric awnings are great.

Headline writers tend to distort and sensationalize stories sometimes.

This unfortunate person didn't exactly fall through a hole. The driver was going down I-75 in Florida, apparently struck a guardrail on the left side of the highway and ripped a huge hole in the side of the RV right behind the driver's seat.

It looks as if the rail continued to cut through the side at what is about floor level for much of the length of the RV. FHP reported that the vehicle was still moving after the crash, and the victim was sucked out of the hole caused by the impact.

It's no less tragic for the victim and his loved ones, but it's also a far cry from just falling through a hole in the floor.

Wondering what led the driver to hit the guard rail on the left side of the RV? That stretch looks to be a 2 or 3 lane road. Wonder how fast he was going...

Must have been different air in the 1960s when I sat in the open doorway of the choppers, feet hanging out. No sucking action there but you sure could fall.

My 5th wheel hauls plenty of goods (people OR goods) and it is towed... it's a Recreational Vehicle Trailer.

I would say Motor Homes and Trailer are Recreational Vehicle.
Not sure what this has to do with Things you see in an RV Park.

Trailer, camper, RV, rig, fiver... all words that are pretty much interchangeable to me.

I've used them all to describe that big thing that sits on my seasonal campsite.

Packrat48, This post refers to which post number? In isolation it is confusing.
