Been to this park.
The handle a secondary bac flow prevention device. There is a back flow valve on the top of the tower as well. Some provincial parks I frequent have a secondary check valve at the base of the tower.

Yes, these are designed for camping/ice fishing. Once they are pulled out onto the ice the unit can be lower down to sit on the ice. The unit has hatches in the floor that can be opened for drilling holes in the ice. Some units have as many as 8 hatches in the floor.

People who jump out of perfectly good airplanes, and people who can't drive south far enough to fish in liquid water.......well........um..........they ain't me. I'll leave it at that.

OK, someone look at this picture and tell me how they did this.
3 campers, behind me right now.......the campers are nothing unusual themselves.....but look at how they were put into those spots. Pretty sure these are seasonal here, but the one on left is normal. The other two on right??? They had to PUSH them in there, didn't they??? No way, because of trees, they could get those in there......???

Some seasonal places will drag them in with tractors. I’ve been to one that had a camper that must have been placed with a forklift or something, the tongue was hanging over a cliff. [emoji33]

We were in a CG in,Maggie Valley and they had quite a few trailers like that. Either one of those powered movers that can run on any type ground or a fork truck with hitch attachments.

my guess is that a tractor was used to get them in there at some sort of angle and then straightened out. tractor would be short enough to get in and out easily and handle the weight too. im also interested in how its *actually* done.

At a rv dealership I visited, watched them move trailers around with a fork truck. Didn't have any problem moving them!

At our CG the manager has a bobcat that he can move trailers around with. He can maneuver around obstacles pretty well with it.

My old seasonal site had a 4 wheel drive 20 hp Kubota that had a ball on the bucket he used to move trailers around.

Yep, a ball on the front of tractor (or equivalent) can place trailers where no normal TV would dare.

One of these days I need to take a picture of the seasonal site next to mine. I have no idea how they manage to get a trailer in and out of it.
It’s backed up to a tree line and has a deck that is probably 30’ long. So to get the trailer in, they have to back it in from the right side as you are looking at the deck. The problem is that there is another large tree about 15’ to the right of the deck. There is very little room to maneuver beyond that because of another tree line that essentially separates the CG from a set of railroad tracks.
Yet somehow they’ve moved a trailer in and out of there a number of times. I’ve heard rumor that they are supposed to be moving in a new trailer sometime soon.

Big fork truck and lift one end at a time.
Not my trailer! You want it there, OK.

You beat me to it, with one of the larger tracked skid steers and a homemade hitch plate you can put things in their place. There is a couple of companies that makes tracked RC trailer dollies.
Trailer Valet has three models ranging from 3,500 lbs, 5,500 lbs, and up to 9,000 lbs https://trailervalet.com/shop/rvr/
The Danish company Kronings has a nearly identical product called the Camper Trolley that’s advertised as also being able to tow boats and small planes. Their largest model, CT4500 has a capacity of 4500kg or 9920lbs.
https://kronings.com/language/com/ho...amper-trolley/
https://kronings.com/files/5315/0591...-_07092017.pdf
It probably won't be long before someone comes up with one that can handle the largest 5'ers.
