Campfire Monday night @ Canisbay

If you're talking about the lookout overlooking the beaver meadow, yes, that was the place, we must have been there about 4 - 4:30ish (Monday) as we then stopped and walked around Kearney CG (absolutely lovely when closed for the season) on the way back to Canisbay (site 230).
As we got close to our campsite I got a cell call that the hydro was back on at work (the largest resort in The Park) and had to turn around to go check that my maintenance guys had switched all the sewage pumps and refrigeration back to hydro from the geny and reset timers, etc. The joys of being a supervisor with 2 new maintenance workers this year!
We lost power Friday at 1pm and was out till 6:30pm Monday; 100 plus guests and 50 live-in staff with no heat or hot water and bare minimum lights for 3 days!
Tuesday afternoon we pulled up the anchor and took the TT back to Huntsville. If you are around on Thursday morning drop by the resort at the end of the road across from the seaplane base (Smoke Lake), I'll stand you coffee. Our road is 8km long, too rough for your TT (& mine), I realise the timing is probably not good as you're leaving, but the offer stands.
Ask for Geoff.
PS, Hydro went out again this morning (Wednesday) at 5:45am for 4 1/2 hours!

Yes, the lookout over the meadow was where we saw the chipmunk.
Sounds like you got hit hard by that storm that dropped tornadoes in the Ottawa area.
Thanks for the offer, Geoff, but we’re heading east to Whitney and then south for our trip home. There were 16 trailers ahead of us in the lineup at the dump station when we got here at 3:30pm on Sunday so we hope we won’t have the same one hour wait this morning!

Tropical???
I didn't know Northern Ontario was tropical!
These trees were growing on Canisbay site 232 over the last weekend.
Even with the hydro outage all weekend, the motorhome's occupants kept the trees on by running their geny 24/7.

We were through the campground on Monday. We were staying at Arrowhead. Left for Grundy Lake a day early as a tree was about to fall on our trailer.

I have see countless tundras very nose high. Blame the owner not the fake add. To the Toyota owners I have nothing against the trucks. They are very reliable. Just know your facts before you buy to much trailer.

IIRC, I saw this truck at the Chicago Auto Show. They had signage noting that it only pulled the shuttle across that bridge in the background, not the whole route. The shuttle's main TV and the shuttle were too heavy for the bridge, hence using the truck.
Almost any vehicle with 400#s of torque could pull it the 1/4 mile over the 405 freeway.
Still cool tho...

Hiya,
Arrowhead is a pretty nice park, first time there was winter camping, 1980, in a Bonair 650, and a few times since.
There were quite a few limbs down around Canisbay, the resort I work at is 20km away and our 8km road had 6 trees and 5 tree tops laying on it Friday night which I had to cut through to get into work. Working here in The Park I always carry a chainsaw.
Grundy is/was a great near-north Provincial Park, been there a time or three. First trip was the year it opened, '58 or '59, mum and dad decided to go there from Ingersoll for a week; mum says it was very primitive at the time, barely slashed out of the bush. Dating myself here but my brother and I were only little nippers then!
Enjoy your stay there.
Geoff

Yup, marketing, what's the old saying about a rowboat can move the Queen Mary if it tried! (OK, nit-pickers, we're assuming no wind here)

Went as far as Ohio with it from Washington state, 6000 mile trip, took a month. Really enjoyed that one. Now we enjoy the Shockwave, have hauled the Goldwing but generally take the Polaris RZR as we boondock in the mountains. Wed we are leaving for a week in Dixie, Idaho. No phones, no TV and no internet.
This isn't a very good picture but it's the only one I have in this computer. We were camping in a RV park in Elk City, Idaho back in '15. We towed that trailer over 20,000 miles, now it sits in my shop, considering selling it now.
