Things you see in an RV Park

When they hooked up to water, there were leaks from frozen and busted pipes so they were making do with a "chamber pot" and a garden hose. They stayed a couple days and then were going to pull out and head to Cheaha state park. The class A guy was loaded up and had his 425 hp cummins cranked and waiting. Class C guy couldn't get his electric jacks to raise off the ground more than a couple inches. After fooling around for a couple hours the brother in the 42 footer got disgusted because he said the new rv'er had not read ANY of his books or manuals and they left. The Jayco owners called for roadside assistance (only had a plan that called someone, no payment). A couple hours later, 3 guys showed up from an RV place and stayed until that evening. They eventually jumped the connection on each jack and got them raised but the culprit seemed traced to a 12v battery that was only outputting 9.7 volts and may have messed up the main control board. No telling how much their bill $$ was going to be. They paid for another night and decided they would just go back home to Louisiana the next morning.
The following morning the lady pulled the Jeep out onto the road to prepare to hook up. The man pulled the Jayco out of his campsite with the awning out and tore it off on the streetlight pole beside their campsite. We got the few bent pieces that were left pulled down and zip tied to the body so maybe they wouldn't flop around and helped them hook up the jeep. I sure hope they made it back home safely.

Some folks just have too steep a learning curve to dive in and maybe should try another hobby. I felt so sorry for them I could have just cried.

That was my recollection too. I traveled quite a bit for work over there in the 90's and early 2000's and it was an unusual site to see one.

I'm not sure if this link will work, but we can give it a try. I ran across these motorhomes in Google Maps Street View at Shineinookatenbo Park near Biei, Hokkaido, Japan. If
the link doesn't work, try searching for the park in Google Maps yourself. I was very surprised that there are any motorhomes in Japan, considering their reputation for narrow roads. Apparently they have enough roads for RV's to be useful.

Wow! Those are some pretty small campers but I guess they also typically have pretty small families as well. No way my f-350 CC LWB Dually and my 33' bumper pull camper is going to navigate that!!

No slides because the largest TV they offer is a Ford Ranger...cannot pull all the weight or fit full size trucks on the roads in many parts.

That makes sense for the travel trailers, but we saw several small class c's similar to 3500 sprinter chassis and even a few small class A's, none with slides though.

Dont have a great answer for that. Looks like in many countries Norway Scandinavia and Austria you have to pay "tolls" via a GoBox on any road if over 3.5 tonnes or 7700ish lbs. Maybe they are keeping under that?

They tax the heck out of everything. My uncle refuses to buy a TV and just streams so he does not have to pay the TV tax.

Got to lady luck casino in Caruthersville Missouri just in time to catch a tornado warning. Tornado went just east of us I guess. The sandbags are from the Mississippi river flooding the campground a week ago I guess.

I am not an anti-Light person but this is a different approach. They have two and some big tall red one too. Still going strong late.

Interesting enough everyone here has lots of lights on all night on their trailers. Many folks not only left them on all night but all day as well. This is very different than most campgrounds I have been to.

The other thing I learned is people camping in Iowa know how to back their trailers. It's no fun watching folks try to back in here they either nail it first time in the dark or only have to move to be more level. Arrivals were all between 930 and 1030pm so they are doing it in the dark as well. It took me 2 tries but then I had to move because the site has a large crown.
