Would hate to see what happens when he/she suddenly swerves to avoid a collision! The roll-over would be impressive.

Ours is the same. We can back-up with it completely down. Just have to remember to put the hitch back after dropping the trailer.

They've been watching too much camping with Steve! He does that stuff to make a fun video, would not recommend for the beginner camper.

I was camping in a state park last week and this unit came it. It has been many years since I've seen a Hi-Lo style of camper. I thought they had all gone out of business years ago.

They really don't have slides. Check out the floor plans on my link in a few posts back.

Yep, definitely not a Hi-Lo since its upper half only goes up, not out like the Trailmanor.

Apparently they do but photos on their web site aren't very helpful.

Their slides are similar to hybrid models with the slides expanding front to back and back to front rather than extending from the side.

Check out the home page and use the arrows to transform the rig. You'll see the front extending over the tongue and the back sliding out like a hybrid.

Rather clever.

I saw that rig at Stone Mountain this fall, and I agree with you. I wouldn’t want to load the car

I used the term Hi-Lo to describe how the top raises up. Yes, that photo I posted is a Trail Manor.
Many years ago I saw a Hi-Lo style of fifth wheel leaving the park we were staying in. It is the only time I've seen a fifth wheel like this. The brand of this fifth wheel was Towlite.

I grew up camping in Hi-Lo campers for MANY years. tow-lite was/is part of the Hi-Lo family. we always got very strange looks while setting up or getting gas and people realized we were not "short". I remember it towed nicely with weight distribution and our 84 country squire wagon with dual exhaust and 3.55 rear gears got 10-12 mpg towing. they fit very well in a normal garage for storage too. biggest issue is the seal between the top and bottom. i vaguely remember touring the plant during the strike. the biggest complaint was that the workers were paid so little that they said they could never afford one of the smallest units they built.
