The car is a NISSAN, so it might add a little character to it.
But if it were my car.

Chi-town is a great sports town. The fans can wait forever. Just can't spell forever the way the kid said it in the movie Sand Lot.
Spent a bunch of years living up that way. I get it. Go cards...

Every state park in Georgia is required to have a pay phone.
Just one.
Somewhere.
Ft. McAllister State Park, GA. Near Savannah.

Right next to us at Indian Springs State Park. Middle of summer. Not Halloween. It lights up at night.
Never did figure out why.

I wish this was so in all state parks. I find it is very hard to find a pay phone now. When I was growing up they were everywhere. I liked them because they were inexpensive. Now people spend $1,200 a year on a cell phone. I do not think I ever spent that much at a pay phone per year.

I agree totally. Many parks are in the boonies where cell coverage is spotty at best. But I would have located the phone at one of the bathhouses out of the rain.

Well I'm not sure but the state park by me has no pay phone and most are being removed as there is no company to provide service to them. If you did use one the cost would probably pay for a cell phone. Who pay's $1200 for a cell phone? Yikes. Not I. I'm cheap Track Phone Later RJD

The odds are that payphone won't work... Even if the copper phone line hasn't been stolen yet. Georgia's Payphone Association used to have some serious political clout. That is why all the Georgia Welcome Centers had banks of payphones. And all those "Call for Reservations" courtesy telephones on the walls at those centers with the hotels, motels, etc listed were just "smart" programmable payphone internals. The hotel you called was accepting an automated "Collect Call" when you used those courtesy phones to make resevations and was billed accordingly!
I worked around, not in, the payphone industry industry for a few years and it was proof that "business ethics" is two separate words...and not meant to be used together!

Anyone remember that the "Baby Bells" slid out of that business, and actually encouraged private ownership of pay phones, just before cell phone ownership and coverage hit it mainstream and the pay-phone business tanked?
Who was left holding THAT bag?
