This could get interesting

It appears CA state parks will go to automated pay to dump stations.

One stated reason is to discourage illegal dumping. Wonder how many, when faced with a $$ fee, on top of the camping fee, will just find an out of the way roadside ditch to dump. Or, just dump without bothering oo pay and release the cap.

The person who decided that 60 seconds was enough time to pay, walk back to dump, and get the hose in place certainly hasn't observed some I've waited behind in dump stations.

I used one of those at a California State Beach.
I'm fine with it but it still doesn't address the fact that California has completely closed down many of their state park dump stations. You often have drive many miles to one that still has their dump station open.
