Thomas Payne Tri-Fold Sofa and 24" Doorway

Hi folks. I just took out my original jack-knife sofa from my Vibe 251RKS. I then ordered a Thomas Payne Tri-Fold sofa (60"). I was clearly told by the seller that it would fit into a 24" wide TT door as long as I don't assemble the back until it's in the TT. OK Fine.

Today it was delivered. Really large box sent freight to my house. When I measure the shortest way I could get it in, it measures 24". It just seems that I may scratch the sofa material trying to get this into the TT. But I need to get it in; the jack-knife sofa is gone, as is all the framing that was built for it.

So ........ I am wondering if anyone has brought a Thomas Payne Tri-Fold sofa into their TT with a 24" wide doorway.

Any advice? Suggestions?

Thanks ........ Rob

Use an old sheet over the couch going in the door. That should keep from scratching the material.

I would use the cardboard boxing to fit on either side and bottom of the sofa to protect it while sliding it in the doorway. Let us know how it turns out.

Got it in today. Not easy at all, partially due to the size of the sofa and partially due to the layout of my Vibe 251RKS. However, it's in. I even modified the right side to contain the AC outlets that were mounted in the jackknife sofa we had before.

Here you go. I even customized the new sofa to include the AC outlets that had been installed in the jack-knife sofa frame. Scary cutting into a brand new sofa.

We got the same sofa, same color. When its folded out, there is that dip and makes it kinda uncomfortable. We got some foam padding and put it down so it would make it more even. With a fitted sheet over it, a lot more comfortable. Course you dont want to make it too comfortable or guests may want to stay longerl
