Time to start a new chapter.

It's time for me to reinvent myself as a solo camper. Fate has dealt me a rather unpleasant hand so now I'm looking to downsize. My 35' TT is a bit overkill for just me so Im looking for ideas in smaller trailers. I still want one with room for a couple guests but Id prefer no slideouts. If possible I want 2 propane tanks, room for 2 batteries and an on board generator. Im a tall guy so It will have to high enough ceilings so I don't bump my head, especially in the shower.

Any thoughts?

It should also be 3/4 ton diesel towable.

I commend you for how you're handling what life has dealt you. Keep living life and add more memories to what you already have. Best of luck.

Oh yeah....so you probably wouldn't be interested in my 36' Cherokee that is 3/4 ton towable.

Well that sucks. No camper ideas - just best wishes for your next chapter.

Very happy with our Coachmen 192 RBS.

I'm 6'2" so the extra height interior and full 80" long Queen bed were perfect for me.

Dual axles give it lots off cargo capacity.

I built a removable rear shelf for the generator and spare fuel.

It does have a small slide to allow for the sofa, which is great for watching TV or surfing the web with our pair of laptops. Would also be good for guests.

Tim, I too recently had that heart breaking loss. Thanks for sharing. I am on the fence about downsizing, as mine is all set up the way I like it. However, mine is at 29’, so already smaller than yours. Great floor plan. It is a bit roomy for just myself, but, everything is great about the rig. Biggest plus, it is paid for! I will be looking at the upcoming shows coming to Arizona over the next several months.

Best clue given to me by many, take your time and do not jump into anything right away.

Have you looked at the fiberglass "egg" trailers? Bigfoot, Oliver and Escape have 20'+ "eggs". Scamp and Escape have a fiberglass 5th wheel models. ALL should be easily towed with a 3/4 ton pick up. None have slide outs and two propane tanks are standard (with some units able to use 30# tanks). Owners I've spoken with have all been VERY happy with their "Eggs". Some of these models go to ~ 25'. I believe MOST are customer direct, they don't sell through RV dealers. I started with a new, 2010, 17' Casita Spirit Travel Trailer. It was a GREAT way to get started as a new RVer.

How is a tall guy going to be happy with any if these trailers.
Did you not read this line:

" Im a tall guy so It will have to high enough ceilings so I don't bump my head, especially in the shower."

I doubt that even the Scamp and Escape 5th wheels will meet this.

I'd suggest a look at the 21 and 23 ft Mini Lites. There's even a 25 ft'er without a slide.

https://forestriverinc.com/rvs/trave...wood-mini-lite

You might want to say if you need/want regular or large "bunks" for guests or some kind of fold out sofa. You also if you need/want a sofa at all or if just a dinette is enough.

Blue Pill’s Coachman is similar to a Rockwood 2109s. For a no slide option in a Rockwood, maybe a 2508 would allow a “grandkid option” if desired. There are also some nice units in the Grey Wolf line. Sorry for your loss. Jay

I too found myself a "solo camper" three years ago this November.

I chose a MicroLite 25BDS which fits just about every criteria you mentioned except slide and built in generator.

Ceiling height is just fine for my 6' 5" tall Son and as a bonus, he can stand up in the shower.

Slide makes it a very roomy trailer if one has guests and can certainly be worked around when retracted.

For generator I have a Champion 3500 watt inverter/generator mounted on a GennyGo generator/cargo platform on the rear bumper along with Safe-T-Struts to make sure the bumper doesn't flex.

I tow it with a Titan SE and it's a near perfect combination.

Well he didn't state how tall he is but the Escape 21' is 6'3" interior height.

A U-dinette makes a very comfortable bed for a tall adult. I'm 6' and have slept on one by myself and had room to spare. It would be a little tight on width for a couple, fine for teenagers. On the occasion you hosted a couple as guests, you could let them have the double bed and you take the U-dinette.

U-dinettes are often in a slide-out, but not necessarily. Since you're towing with a 3/4 ton, what is your objection to slide-out? It needn't be a large trailer. A slide-out actually makes a bigger difference in a smaller trailer.

Mounting a generator on a tongue carrier could also approximate a built-in generator, if secured adequately and sufficiently accessible to the user.

E.g., a Stromberg-Carlson Trailer Tray

PS: I have a Mini-Lite 2507S on order, which is the Rockwood twin for the 25BDS.
