Tire Inflator

I am trying to find a moderately priced tire inflator that will inflate my trailer/truck tires. Had a goodyear I500 cordless inflator that worked great but after 5 years has died. Many of the ones on Amazon/Ebay are have some disappointing results, such as the inflator works for 7 minutes then burns up or the inflator works for a few months then simply doesn't start up. These were priced in the $45-$70 range. Can anyone recommend a tire inflator that is not made with plastic gears, I was surprised to learn many of these have plastic gears which breaks or wears out quickly. Thank you

Got mine at Sears for $99 works great psi to 140. I only need 80 so fills at 1 lb per second. Good luck as there are lots of choices. Your size your needs all available.

Can you tell me what model you bought? I will be using it on my TV tires and trailer tires ST225/75-15. I was looking at the VIAIR 77P. Thanks

Minimalist Cheapie but goodie

The harbor freight Pittsburg Portable inflator for $60.

12Volt 150 PSI Compact Air Compressor

I have mine for a year, topping off my truck and rv tires many times to 80 psi, plus air bags and bikes etc.

I bought the extended warranty for $15.00 but have not yet used it.

I bought a Kobalt portable from Lowes. Its tankless, very light and runs on either 12V or 115V. It has a built-in digital tire pressure guage (reads about 1psi higher than my trusty handheld digital) and you can set your target pressure and it will autostop. The autostop doesn't work too well with my flow-thru TPMS because the sensors have enough restriction that the hose pressure goes above the tire pressure and it shuts off prematurely, but if I set it about 5psi higher and stop it manually it does a fine job.

I think I have the same one. Model 75118

Sorry- guess I should have told you that it is a 120v unit. I added a 1000w power inverter to my TV and a 50' extension cord for if I needed to inflate my tires, or the tires at the campsite next to me!

Have one of the Kobalts also, the 1st one was used maybe 1/2 doz times and FT Turbs borrowed it at Goshen and it just quit. I took it back to Lowes and got a free exchange one that has never been used. I bought a 2 gal. that will go to 150 with an adj. pressure set. Used it in FL in Feb and it still has 80# in the tank. Noisy, but it sure works great.
