tire replacement

we have a small hybrid and we need to replace tires next season. it currently has goodyear marathons, we havent had any problems.

Current tire PN is ST175/80R 13(B). Gross weight on trailer if 4600. Trailer is a 2001 Fleetwood 723C Ultralite Lynx prowler

What do you find most economical.? go to a timre dealer for purchase and installation or go to a camper service store? i want the tires balanced and the axle lubricated/seals packed if needed. The camper store wanted about 110 each installed. I checked online and it seems you buy them for about 65, if this is a current price.

also what tires do you recommend. we will drive at 55 mph in this tailer, pull with a 4runner or nissan truck. we only put about 1000 miles max per year on trailer, camp in this trailer about 3- 4 timer/year, mostly long weekends in fall and spring.

thanks for your input

i buy almost ALL of my tires on-line. then i have them mounted and balanced at the local service station. as far as the axle lube, a service station should be able to do that as well. check and see if you have the e-z-lube axles. if so, it is no big deal to lube the axles yourself. I've had both Carlisle and Goodyear trailer tires and have not had a minute's worth of trouble with either brand. the appropriate tiring rating, the right amount of air, the right travel speed, and a well-balanced trailer are the keys to happy towing.
