To level or not to level....

This is my first winter with my TT, I live in an area that does get some snow. I was thinking it might be better to leave the tongue lowered so the snow / rain can run off easier. Am I missing something here or is this a good idea?

I tip mine the other way, mainly to keep snow melt out of my vent cover since i leave vent slightly open.

Just remember to level before you turn on fridge.

Not sure why, but I do the same. The crown in the roof should take care of run off, but I usually tip it back when at home between trips. I live in Missourah and get a little snow also.

I lower the tongue a few degrees so the water from the rain gutters runs to the end of the drive and not the back. When we camp I usually raise the tongue a few degrees so my head is up a little while sleeping and the water runs to the back of the campsite.

Just make sure its not to much of a rake as it will effect the fridge come spring may not work and will need to burp and that is not a fun trick. Later RJD

I prefer to tilt back. I'd like the water to run off the back rather than the nose, in hope that less water and ice runs across the decals in the front.

Fridge and your comfort while inside is the main reason to level. When parked idle and fridge off I always lower the nose more to better facilitate water run off... or you can raise the nose past level to have water drain to the rear.

Good question.
We have all our RV's low to the front just because of the design.
What you need to do is look at your RV roof.
Does it make sense to leave it low? Some it doesn't matter and some it does.

Another nose somewhat high and stabilizers up. Parked on boards to keep tires up and off damp ground.

I left my nose slightly higher since I had to raise to hook and unhook

I like to tilt my 5'ver up and allow the water to drain off of the back.

Keeps the water flow off of the front paint job, plus the back wall is flat so the water tends to flow out of the gutters on each side instead of along the whole width of the rooftop.

Of course, down here in the Arizona desert...we don't get a lot of rain.

Just moved down here from Denver, Colorado about six months ago.
