Toilet Ring Winterization or Storage

Toilet valve and rubber seal...

What does everyone do about the toilet rubber seal?
Leave it in position with pressure on it?
Leave no water on the ring?
Pour antifreeze on the ring and rubber?
Prop the foot valve open?
Do you lubricate it with anything during the winter?

I'm curious to see what works for everyone else.

I use anti freeze so run some through the water supply line and dump some remaining antifreeze in the bowl to keep the ring lubricated. For 35 years.
