Saw that on the local news Pensacola and Mobile. DW and I were at Sunburst RV Resort in Milton FL while the weather was coming through. Fortunately for us weather didn’t get severe at our location.
Stay alert

I'm scheduled to arrive at Anchors Aweigh Sunday. First time to ever stay there. Always stayed at the State Park. Hope they are up and running!

This is just another opportunity to remind all of us that most injuries associated with RVs and storms happen to those who choose to stay in their camper and "ride it out". As already noted, know the location of your designated tornado/storm shelter (often the restrooms) and don't be afraid to use it, especially when in doubt.

x2 we use a weather alert radio and always camp close or in short distance from a bath/restroom as most are built out of cement block. Always know where your storm shelters are.

We recently purchased a tornadoAlert,,,
No idea how well it works yet,,, it also detects Lighting & Severe Storms ???
It is supposed to alert you 30 minutes before Weather Radio does ???

As someone who has lived in Ks my whole life, while safer than the RV Cement block is only marginally better structurally than the RV. Long straight block walls tend to fall over on top of you in high winds. Look for a real shelter if there is one as around here there are sometimes.

Still need the smallest room by an interior corner. If the stalls are solid that would be best. If not maybe the showers or a closet. The basement even if only partially below grade in the corner is the safest. Definitely NOT trying to "outrun" it by driving into it like the people on the weather channel video a few weeks ago.

Let's hope none of us ever have to find out.

The state park I go to a lot has a bath house that hot only is the outside wall is block both men's and women's are back to back with a room in the middle running the length of the building so that four walls with block wall between each toilet and shower stall I feel its the best to be in when the time comes which I hope is never. many of the things you had mention you wont find in a campground
