Total Lunar Eclipse

On Wednesday evening, February 20th, the full Moon over the Americas will turn a delightful shade of red and possibly turquoise, too. It's a total lunar eclipse—the last one until Dec. 2010.

Yeah I heard that on the way to work this morning. Any idea what time the event occurs?

Earth’s shadow will totally engulf the Moon from 10:00 to 10:52 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, or 7:00 to 7:52 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. The partial phases of the eclipse last for about an hour and a quarter before and after totality.

When is the next total lunar eclipse visible from the America's?
Not until December 20–21, 2010.

Great! That's not too late to stay up and see it.

I was able to watch it as well. Loved the reddish hue. Saturn looked brilliant as well, just off to the side.

I got to see it! It was cloudy until about 20 minutes after the start and then clear all the way through I dragged out the small telescope and even let my daughters stay up to watch it all the way through. Saturn is even tilted just enough to get a bit of seperation in the rings. Way cool
