Trailerlegs...Have you seen these?
Hi all,
Just watched a Mr. Truck video from SEMA 2016 on trailerlegs. I am wondering if anyone here has tried these or seen them in action? Also interested in hearing what the rv-ing veterans think of this idea? They look like a good idea, but I'm not sure if they'd do damage to the axles?? Check it out.

Trailer legs
I haven't seen these, but this relates to a thread I posted recently wondering about the advisability, or lack of it, of taking the weight of the trailer off the tires during long-term storage (here that's about 6 months). Those who replied seemed to think that it was a waste of time. I'll be interested to see what response this trailer legs thread draws.

I just move my trailer forward about a foot every month so it sits on a different spot on the tire.

Waste of $$$$. If we didn't use our rig for a year or so, I might think about it, but would more than likely just sell the rig . We have had rigs of very different sizes and weights and didn't take the weight off of tires, never worried about flat spots, and never had any problems. But if you want to support this designer/seller, go for it😁. While you are at it you could also pick up some slide supports, slide toppers, nitrogen fill, kingpin tripod, and a custom cover😉.

Hmmm. $260 bucks for 4 Trailer Legs vs. about $20 bucks for some solid concrete cinder blocks.
Wonder which I'd choose???

Wouldn't need either if you fill those tires with Nitrogen.

No silly, not nitrogen!!! Helium!!! That will completly take the weight off. Add just enough and your rig will "float" just above the ground. Or add a lot and just teather it to the ground.

Make some extra money renting it out as a Macy's parade balloon.

A single one might be useful for changing a flat tire.
I love the first quote on their website:
“TrailerLeg’s was one of the best investments i have ever come across, now i wont need to replace the tires every spring when the family goes camping!”
-Fred Williams (Lake Skinner, CA)
I hadn't realized that the China bombs had gotten so bad that we have to get new tires EVERY YEAR now. (And this guy lives in California!)

Probably costs them $10 bucks apiece to injection mold each one.
Got to love advertising!!!
Just goes to show you, if someone invents/makes something, no matter how silly or useless it it, someone, somewhere, will buy it.
As for changing a tire...a Harbor Freight 20 ton bottle jack for $32 bucks will do the same thing.

it looks teetery to me. I ain't mad....I wish I was smart enough to come-up with something that could be patented and manufactured then sold.
My father had lots of good ideas and no money to pursue... died without getting a single patent... he made tools at work and got "awards" there, but no real money. Love you Dad.

Hmmm... I'll have to check them out, how high they put the trailer. I have a '07 Surveyor and the honey valve is way low and my honey wagon input is higher, bummer. The price is stupid high, though.
I was looking at using the anderson levelers, not sure how high they can go, either.
The only advantage I could see would be if they stopped electrolysis action in the bearings, but I don't know how much of that would occur in a 6 month time period.
If used for just getting the tires off the ground for storage and you have to jack it up anyway, concrete blocks would be better.

Not sure how you do it now, but I keep wooden blocks in my trailer for leveling, chocking, etc. I stack a few of these in front of the good tire and pull the trailer up. The blown tire (only two ever), comes up high enough to service. I'm already hauling these, so...
FYI... California folks LOL

Many, perhaps all, axle manufacturers recommend you do not jack or support the trailer from the axle or suspension parts. For example, Dexter has the pictured caution in their manual. Instead, you are supposed to jack up the frame to replace a wheel.
Unless your trailer manual or axle manufacturer recommends jacking the trailer from the axle, I wouldn’t use this method for storage.

My yard isn't huge but it would take several years for my trailer to even reach my property's edge moving only 12" per month.
