I didn't think anyone was staying home due to things described including covid...have you tried making a reservation at any state park for the coming months? It seems all those who had RV's and all who bought them last year are using them but again those places are not in the hot spots named by others.

The US is now showing a lot of signs of becoming a Third World country. Violent political unrest, serious public health issues, unemployment issues. In California the power gets turned off. It is much like traveling out of the country. Check with the State Dept to see which areas to avoid.

Now is the time to REALLY discover America. Stay off the Interstates and away from the big cities. You'll be fine. We still travel and still enjoy visiting new places. However, we mostly travel the US routes and take routes around the big cities. It has worked like a charm.

Just go. And while you're at it, stop watching the hysterical Yellow Journalism of the evening news; they stay afloat with the "If it bleeds, it leads" philosophy. You'll be much more at peace. Things are real quiet here in Texas, so y'all come down! There are a few limitations due to the 'Rona but nothing too draconian. Avoid the major metroplexes and you will have a fine time!

A lot of wisdom here in this thread. I have a concealed carry for Nevada and Utah which is good just about everywhere, but who wants to get into that situation or have to use it? Not me, even with CCR Insurance. So, big cities are an issue and DC is very much closed up. Same said for Portland, Minneapolis or any other "big city"...That said, I would hate to miss out on Memphis, Nashville, Savannah etc...but a good time for the Keys?

I've not changed any plans or curtakiled anything. Like a Boy Scout I;m always prepared for anything. My only rule is to avoid the blue states and that is not new.

Charleston, WVa, with that wonderful capital covered with gold leaf! You can see it from I-77, five miles away!
