Uncomfortable mattress

The mattress we have without box springs is pretty uncomfortable. Any suggestions for a mattress topper?

Restless in Savannah...

Forget toppers. You simply cannot make a silk purse out of a sows ear. Go buy a real mattress from your favorite mattress store and sleep comfortably.

We got the "upgraded Serta" mattress....I hope we didn't pay much. We have a 2" cool get memory foam something. On our 2nd trip I put an air mattress under the regular one. We are contemplating a total replace with some sort of memory foam set-up.

You are correct. Really can't correct bad.
We replaced our mattress with one we loved & placed a topper on it.
We do like it as it is very comfortable.

Our 5er came with an upgraded mattress and was not too bad. We added a 4" topper and cannot ask for anything better.

We purchased a mattress topper from AB Lifestyles (Bed Skirts | Baby Bedding | Crib Sheets | RV Bedding | RV Mattresses), along with the RV sheets. Made a world of difference. Business was great to deal with, answered the phone right away, quick & well packaged shipping.

Haven't done anything with our 5'er yet, but our last TT the mattress was pathetic, wound up buying a mattress from The Big Rig Mattress Company (The Big Rig Mattress | The Premium Truck Mattress), and loved it. Will probably go back to one of these for this 5'er.

A 6 inch memory foam mattress purchased at Ikea is what we have and it is so comfortable.

When we bought a new mattress, we took our old memory foam mattress and cut it to size to fit in the camper. It helped a lot.

In my R-Pod 171, the stock mattress seems reasonably comfortable and I wouldn't want anything much thicker because it's already a PITA to move when I have to get at utility compartments under the bed.

It's all in the eyes of the beholder. If you want firm, go to ikea. They have a firm memory foam for 500. Bought one for home. Can't be beat. The new camper has a president elect firm, and I think this one will be good. The other one not so much. It's all a matter of preference.

Our Cedar Creek came with a Serta Trump mattress and it sleeps so good. That Trump sleeps better than our mattress at home

Does it make sleep great again?

We added a 2" topper to our crappy mattress and a heated top pad for those chilly nights. This made all the difference for the comfort. We would love to do a sleep number like we have at home but boy are they pricey!

Our camper came with a fancy named, really poor quality king sized mattress.

Amazon has hundreds of memory foam and traditional mattress that are delivered compressed and in a box. They weigh in at 100+ pounds. I like that there are lots of reviews for each mattress. You can check if the reviews are actual or not. Plenty of videos too.

We ordered a 137 pound king sized replacement. If the mattress was not compressed into a box, I don't think that the wife and I could have gotten a 16" king mattress through the camper patio door and into the bedroom. With a dolly and some tight maneuvering, we got the compressed mattress into our bedroom and slept on it during the 2016 season. Loved the mattress and the reviews matched what was delivered. Wish I had done this earlier.

On our old TT the factory mattress was god awful. Would have rather slept on the floor. We went on amazon and got a 8in( i think) memory foam/cooling gel mattress and boy is it nice. sold that TT to a buddy and left the mattress in it. Bought our new Salem Hemisphere 29BH and I be danged if it didn't have the same god awful mattress. So with Christmas money we have purchased another one from amazon. It was either spend a 100 and something on a nice topper or spend 100 more and get a good mattress.

Uncomfortable mattress

Sams club has a mattress called night therapy (I think) and they have many styles in the odd RV queen size. We got the 8" memory foam/spring hybrid for like 180.

I'm with a number of the other posters: replace the mattress with an upgraded one that you would use in your house. It is worth it. I purchased a Serta RV mattress and then opted to add a 2" foam topper to the mattress and find it quite comfortable.
