They are a very good replacement Head for Any shower,RV or Home! They Do use More water than the Factory head that came in our unit! Glenn and I did the Test on City water pressure using Both shower heads! Oxy used MORE! I still like the OXY at home and RV! Youroo!! PS turn your "Control Valves" so the hose outlet is "DOWN" knobs will turn propper way and "Winterizing" shower will drain and NOT capture Water in the Outlet!

This is very true you get a better stream of water with it but the claim that it also saves water is false. At least that was there claim years ago when it first came out....

Did anybody just replace the old wand with an Oxygenics and use the old hose and mount? Will it fit on the original hose and mount?

Yes it will just screw on.... Remember you will need a shut off button. They never use to come with one but some now I see do. So make sure it includes that or you will have to add one......

We bought the Oxygenics BodySpa RV shower head in Brushed Nickel and wound up using the original mount (the included mount was almost non-adjustable) and then also opted to use the original hose because the hose that came with the Oxygenics was stiffer than a board.

Because the shape and angle of the Oxygenics head is radically different than the factory shower head, it sprayed pretty much straight down and was awkward to use especially for us taller folks. That, coupled with it actually using MORE water than the factory head, was enough to send it back The DW hated it.

I realize a lot of folks like the Oxygenics... but... I'm still searching for something better.

Replacing the Shower Head is (usually) only half of your problem. Water Pressure is the real culprit.

A lot of you got a plastic (or maybe brass) "Water pressure regulator" that you attach to the CG Fresh water spigot. Water pressure regulator is a misnomer, Water pressure limiter is a better term

These gadgets were made for RVs back in the day that were plumbed with PVC. As such, they "limit" water pressure to @ 40-ish PSI

Most modern RVs are plumbed with PEX. Unlike PVC, PEX has a 300+PSI bursting (in fact the PEX is more durable than the connectors - those are usually @ 200PSI bursting).

So what do you do? Get this:

http://www.amazon.com/Valterra-A01-1...ater+regulator

And set your PSI to a reasonable 80-85 PSI and you will have residential quality showers in your RV!

I've heard various claims about taking pressure up to 80ish, some are for and some against. Is there anything out from the manufacturers suggesting an appropriate pressure amount?

It would be very rare that you would find a CG with that much pressure to begin with, I always test the pressure with a rain bird meter. I have an adjustable watts regulator. But I had a leak running water at 55 lbs PSI. It's not the plex line that go's it's at the hose fittings where it comes in at with the cheap clamps they use to split off to the plex lines. I had a water leak the last time I was out. It was hard to find, found out the cheap clamp came loose and I couldn't tighten it up it kept slipping. So I replaced all the clamp areas with new S/S clamps. Easy to do but hard to get to. I also dropped my regulator down to 45 PSI, so far so good, the lines can hold the pressure but the fittings can't. Also the fixtures are cheap plastic held together with "O" rings. I heard of one guy that blew his faucets right off from to much pressure. He switched out to the household type from HD. I have never read anything from the manufacturer, but my dealer told me 45 psi. I think between 45 and 50 lbs would be max, without doing some bullet proofing.

Where in this country do home water pressures run at 80 PSI? Every home I've seen including the one I live in the well pump is set to 45-50 psi. Showers are just fine. Camper water pressure regulator is set to 45 psi also with no issues. Buy a good adjustable water pressure regulator, not the cheap inline non-adjustable thing, set to 45 PSI with the Oxygenics head and you should be happy. I am.

Cranking the pressure to double that is asking for headaches.

City water PSI is 100lbs+ in certain areas of the little town I live outside of. Homeowners are responsible for installing their own regulators.

Home water pressure

[QUOTE=ferguson65;1151049]Where in this country do home water pressures run at 80 PSI?

The pressure at my house measures @ 80psi. Local water authority upgraded to this pressure some years ago.
Our water is piped from Lake Ontario.

I believe that most manufacturers rate the camper pipework at 60psi (tho' I've been told that they usually pressure-test at 80psi).
I usually run our pressure at 55psi (with a Watts regulator, which I'd thoroughly recommend) - I ordered the 263A-LF from rvwaterfilterstore.com ).
We also have an Oxygenics shower head which I bought from Amazon last year and it's a LOT better than the factory shower head.

Just in-case anyone is interested, I bought the Watts 263A-LF pressure regulator (which has much better flow than any of those little cheap inline pressure regulators) from RVwaterfilterstore.com (great service), and attach it to the water inlet (with a 90deg elbow to reduce the pull on the inlet), though I am thinking about mounting it inside the basement.
