Using Class A RV up North in Winter

Hello all - My wife would like to take our Forest River Georgetown 378 XLT up to upstate NY during late December and early January. The unit came with a full artic package from the manufacturer and being an inexperienced camper, I truthfully still don't trust it given just how cold it can get up there.

Anybody have any experience with camping in a Class A in the Winter weather? Any thoughts would be appreciated! Oh, and we'll be leaving from and returning to Florida going up the East Coast almost all the way both ways, fyi.

Thanks!

First off....gutsy move.

Where did you figure you’d stay at night? Most if not all, campgrounds up North are closed, or very very far and few between. What were you planning for interior heat? Propane furnace will deplete your propane quickly. If you’re using fireplace ( if equipped) or electric space heaters, you need 30amp minimum, 50amp better, but not too many people have that at their home. You might have the Arctic package for your tanks, but that doesn’t address your water lines throughout the rig. If you don’t need water or use of the shower and toilet, that eliminates that concern.

BTW....you planning on driving in snow, ice, salt, mud? Yuk.

Back atcha. Brrrrrrrrrrr.

Stay south, very few campgrounds are open up north in the winter.
