Vent Cap

Have a 2005 Grand Surveyor and hit a limb and broke a vent cap today. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement and specs for same. I was told today that it is called a "vent lid" . Has a hole and need to repair quickly before the rains. Also, was wondering how hard it is to change them out. They do not look very strong in the first place.

Thanks,

f

There are several references to Vent lids, are you talking about a vent for your black or grey tanks or are you referring to the 14x14" roof vents (fresh air for the trailer)? If you define which you need, there are many here on the forum that have changed both and you will promptly get several replies

As flyrotor said, there are many references to VENT CAP.

There are plumbing vent caps and

Camco 40034 RV Polar White Replace All Plumbing Vent Cap Only.
Replaces the lost RV plumbing top cap,
Separate cap fits up to a 2 inch pipe,
Features spring tension attachment, which eliminates the need to replace the entire vent,
Polar White.
Easy to replace. Remove the damaged cap and install the new, spring loaded cap.

And, there are Vent Lid (Cap). Which is also easy to replace.
Crank the lid to the full open position. Remove the inside crank handle(Phillips Screwdriver), remove the inside insect screen. remove the two crank gearbox retaining screws and slide the raising arm out of the slot.
Go on the roof and bend the hinge cover retaining tabs and slide the damaged lid off.

Replace the vent lid or use it as an excuse to install MaxxAir vent covers.
