Returned from our four week trip to Key West the other night and the wife informed me we should schedule our fifth wheel for a slide issue at the Dealer we purchased from. Called them yesterday thinking we would have a waiting period to even get scheduled. Was advised to drop it off this morning, again thinking our shed would be quite empty for an extended time. Got a call at 4pm today saying our unit was ready to come home. Nothing major but our main slide out of three was catching when bringing it in. We were advised all was well. From some of the horror stories I have read here about very long wait times to get their units back I was a bit nervous. Grabbing it first thing in the morning.

3 years of camper ownership, had to go to the dealer once and was told 10 business days, called me in 2. Charged me half the normal rate. Also was worried about the horror stories

There are probably more reputable and considerate dealers than not. But, good news is not what we want to report or hear, so all the doom and gloom is stated.

We have a very very good dealer that takes care of their clientele. Avalon RV in Medina, OH. I have never had an issue with them.

Perhaps if we as a community gave more praise to the dealers that serve us well, and less highlighting the troubles we encounter, the poor dealers will raise the bar and come up to our expectations.

Very true. After reading the horror stories I was almost scared to even call the dealer. I was not very comfortable messing with adjusting any of our slides especially the largest/heaviest one. Glad we made the call and had them check it for us. Turned out to be nothing more then the seals needed to be dressed. Something so simple yet I failed to address myself, lesson learned.
