Vintage Shasta canopy issues

We have the new remade Shasta airflyte with the classic canopy that slides across edge which is very difficult to task. Last vintage show we were at another Shasta owner said to use some kind of lubricant to make it easier to slide through. Anyone know what lube is reccomended that won't damage the trailer ?

Baby powder would be my choice.
Sprinkle on the edge that slides into the channel.

I have the extruded track on my unit. I use spray silicone on the inside track and mine slides right in.

Baby powder would be a mess to use. baby powder is for baby butts not awning / canopy tracks.

Baby powder is indeed the best lubricant for extruded aluminum. it will make things glide nicely without attracting dirt that will eventually cause galling like a liquid lubricant will.

Talc is used as a dry lubricant. My understanding is you would want to use Talcum powder (or baby powder that has talc as the main ingredient) for this purpose.

All "baby powders" may not be created equally.

Baby powder is OFTEN used on the rubber slide seals for lubrication. That is certainly not a baby butt application.

If you don't want to use it fine... that's YOUR choice.
