VRBO or AirBnb?

Are there many vrbo/airbnb type for rv sites out there. Surely, there are lot owners that would like to make an income off of their owned rv site? We would consider buying a lot for our own use, but rent it out if there was something like vrbo.

Any ideas?

The vast majority of RV owners would never do this.
Some of the few that would, no longer use their RV as much anymore and some buy a RV just for this purpose.
You won't find many here that have a positive view of doing this.

I believe the op is referring to an RV site, not their RV?

You are right, missed that. Forget what I said.

Acrually there are folks and places out there that rent RV's both to drive and static. If you search correctly, you'll be amazed...

I believe that I was misunderstood!

If you re-read my question, it asks if anyone know of RV SITES, not Rvs for rent through vrbo. I agree; I would never rent out our RV.

The reason for my question is that we are looking for property to purchase to park on for a month or two at a time. We found an RV SITE for sale and wondered if we could get a return on the investment if we were to purchase the site and then rent it out when we are not using it? It is way too expensive to purchase for part time use otherwise.

I do not know of a site that does this but do your homework 1st.

If you rent your RV site (land):

Make sure you have the proper business license and insurance, and more and more areas are requiring permits (for a fee) and a tax to be collected per day and filed, at a set time to be turned in. Every area is different.

I can see 2 business models growing in the coming years.

#1 - RV site rentals, as the OP is suggesting.
People share their purchased sites, just like VRBO & AirBnB do with houses, condos, and apartments. I think the biggest barrier for wide adoption will be rules that prohibit sub letting at many of the places that allow the purchase and ownership of a site. Bring on the lawyers... they've been crucial to the success of VRBO & AirBnB.

#2 RV Storage Space Rentals
I believe there's a fantastic opportunity for people to make money if they have extra space to store RV's on their own private property. There's a shortage of RV storage in many areas, and HOA's continue to force people into storing their campers and boats away from their homes.
