Warranty Info?

Hello all!!! We are proud, new owners of a Rockwood 5th wheel 8286 with the outside kitchen. We have used it only 3 times. We absolutely love our unit and we have numerous people stopping by to look at it at the campground.

Of course, the outside kitchen gets a lot of use. However, cleaning up this morning, we noticed that the countertop front edging has separated from the countertop in front of the sink and in another spot. The caulking that Forest River used failed and now the countertop has gotten wet and starting to swell.

My question is: Is this defective workmanship? Does this fall under the warranty? I do not understand why the would even use a laminate countertop with a straight edge. With a curved edge countertop, this would not have happened, in my opinion. We left the camper at the campground because we are going back next week. I will try and post pics ASAP

I suggest you take it to the dealer and ask them to have it fixed under warranty. It sounds like it should be covered, however FR may claim negligence on your part so be prepared. The sooner you get it to the dealer the better off you are.

One of my hobbies is cabinet and furniture making. The material that forest river uses for their tables and countertop is not moisture proof, so any moisture will cause the product to swell and fall apart.
