Warranty Service

We have decided to get a e-Pro 20 BHS
The question I have is there is no e-pro / geo pro dealer within a2 hour drive.
Can any Forest River dealer perform warranty work?

Welcome to the forum, I see it is your 1st post.

This question gets asked often and there is no one answer that fits all.
A forum search will get you lots of reading and uneasiness.

Yes other dealers can do warranty work but you'll likely be at the end of their scheduling appointments because you didn't buy it there.

Mobile technicians can do warranty work but sometimes YOU must get prior factory authorization and pay the tech and get reimbursed by the factory.

And finally, even dealers you buy from often have service work piled up (paying customers) and leave warranty work to wait months.

The R/V industry and their warranty/repairs are nothing like anything else you've ever encountered anywhere. And even if a dealer can get you in, there is nothing to say they will do a good job fixing something. There is no certifications necessary to be a R/V tech so the kid down the street that needs a job after school could be the one fixing your $XXXk R/V.

That's why many R/V owners are DIY folks.

5picker is right. We didn't have any luck getting warranty work done locally when we bought from a dealer 3 hours away.

Your best defense is to do a good predelivery inspection. Make certain all the things are fixed before you sign the final papers. In our case, we ended up spending another day in another city while they made the repairs. Be prepared to leave and come back once the repairs are made.

As mentioned, campers are largely DIY items. Your best defense against "warranty" repairs is a ruthless pre-delivery inspection to include crawling underneath and getting up on the roof. Don't let the dealer -- or your family -- rush you. Heck, leave the family at home!

Plan on fixing stuff yourself if you don't want the trailer sitting on the back of the dealer's lot all season.

Despite my detailed inspection I discovered the caps over the sewage roof vents were missing. Tow back to the dealer? Not a chance. I called them and they mailed me the parts.
