Washing and Waxing

Many thanks to all the forum members who so highly recommended the waterless car wash wax kit (link here). I purchased it and now that my foot is relatively healed from surgery, I got out today and washed and waxed my TT myself. That stuff works so well I could see myself in the reflection on the side of the TT!

Here's hoping the wash and wax is available for a long time and that it continues to keep my TT looking fantastic! I am now recommending this product to others with RVs because it was so easy to use and the results were noticeable.

My order just came in today. I hope to get mine washed soon. Did you wash the roof and if so what did you use?

F11 topcoat sealant

After I wash my TT I use F11 topcoat sealant, I don't have enough room here to write how good it is . it's pricey but protects your decals and repeals the dust and bugs, you can use it on everything....it works.

I have a rubber roof conditioner that I used on the roof. Washed it first with Dawn dish soap then rinsed, let it dry and then conditioned it the following morning. I think I have the Thetford brand of rubber roof conditioner but not sure. You might want to clean your roof first so you don't end up with black streaks running down the sides of your RV when you wash it.

One thing I noticed with the waterless wash and wax is this. I was wearing my Apple Watch during my wash/wax process. I had a screen protector on the face of the watch that is a thin piece of glass. When I finished with the TT and went in the house, I noticed that a corner of the screen protector was curled upward. It was not going to stay on the watch so I peeled it off to inspect it. It appears that the wash and wax actually turned the piece of glass into plastic. I was unable to break the screen protector as I can normally do. All it would do was bend when I folded it in half.

So while my watch was not harmed, I will not wear it next time I am going to use the wash and wax as it renders my screen protector useless!

Can you give me more specific info on the product you use? I'd like to look into it. My TT is uncovered at this time so I am interested in protecting the exterior as best I can. How often do you apply the product you are referring to? After every wash or less frequently? Thanks!
