And another thing

And here's another trick:
  • Connect the hose securely to the tote (as you said).
  • The black or gray water valve may not be perfect, and a little fluid may have seeped past.
  • Before you take off the RV's cap, hold the other end of the hose under the outlet to catch those drips. Then pivot it up and attach it.
  • No small puddles on the ground.

This is true Larry. We have 30g tanks. I think if I go this way I'll bite the bullet and get the 28g model. Two trips and done. Doubtful I"ll ever let my tanks get more than 28g full.

Waste water portable no wheels

To make things easy since shower water tank fills up fast, go to tank depot and get a low profile tank, I got a 50 gallon one. Then you can put it on the back of truck and leave it there, get a 12 volt pump that has garden hose connector, get garden hose adaptor for RV outlet also, you can pump shower or sink water to tank, no lifting required. Then go to dump station. They usually have a kit to drain tank. I adapted mine to a 2” drain hose with a valve. Once you see the idea it makes going to dump while camping a lot better rather than dreading the process. Let me know what you think.

Hope this isn't too late t help.
I have a 32 gallon tote with wheels.
First time I used it i filled it full.
BIG MISTAKE.
32 gallons of water weighs over 200 pounds.
Took two men to drag it from rear of camper to the truck.
Then had to drive 10 mph to dump station 1/2 mile away.
Now only fill about half full.

Recently I got something on my news feed that reviewed these tanks.
The bottom line was that the tried and true Camco blue tank was the best!

Camco doesn't make a blue tank. It's grey with an orange handle.

Barker is the one that makes the blue ones.

Waste Water Portable Totes

I’m going to buy a 125 gallon pillow tank, that way it can be folded up when not using it. I have a macerator.

And thus my recommendation to buy the 15 gallon. Takes up less storage, and can be handled by one person.

Well, I ended up buying one because of this thread. Do NOT order from rvpartscountry.com!!! Here is my experience if you want to know why: http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...om-184138.html

We have a Barker 32 gal. With pneumatic wheels, used it for the 1st time and am satisfied with it. The only complaint I have is there no handles to grab to pick up and put empty tank in the truck or taking it out making it very awkward to handle by yourself

I bought a Barker 42 gal couple of years back. Glad I did. Tows great as long as you go slow. Easy in and out of truck when traveling, simply pull it up to tailgate and stand it on its end and lift into bed by handle. Easy even for a 72 year old.

Just a side note on these tanks, have had mine picked up by the air blowing in the back of my pickup. Would have lost it if it hadn't caught between my fifth wheel and the truck bed. Be sure to leave some water in it if you carry it like this in the back of your truck or it may not be there when you get where you're going.

Really nice feature on the Camco Rhino is the ladder hook, which allows you to hang it from the back ladder. You have to buy your own lashing straps though. I bought a set at Walmart for 10 bucks.

Kris: After you have used the Rhino some, hope you will rate its performance and other features of it for us. Thanks.

Yeah, seems like that ladder feature is a great idea.

You know I will! I bumped into an older guy dumping his new cart, one size smaller than the 28g I want. He was very happy with it, said the big wheels are holding up much better than the old one with smaller wheels he had. The big wheels and built in ladder attachment hardware and lower price is what got me interested in the Camco Rhino.

Thankfully I have the off road package on my TT. The little extra height make the height of the TT discharge outlet higher than the top of the Rhino cart.

Earlier this year, I got the 36 gal Camco Rhino Tote. Best price was $176.21 at Menard's (after their 11% store use only rebate). The rebate is on about half the time, including now. But they are only in the Midwest. No freight cost to have it shipped to the local Menard's store.

I have only used it once, but it worked well. My plan is to only use it for grey water as we can go 10 days on our black tank.
