Water heater outlet FIRE in 2020 Puma travel trailer

I just had a fire in my 2020 Puma 31bhss travel trailer! Smoke started coming from under the kitchen sink so i grabbed the fire extinguisher, shut off all power, opened the cabinet where the smoke was coming from. I didn't see a flame just smoke coming from an outlet on the floor under the kitchen sink cabinets. I noticed the set up down there and i couldn't BELIEVE what i saw. I took some pictures below. So the geniuses who built this thing put the water heater plug right on the floor, FACING UP, with all the water lines for the sink and heater RIGHT ABOVE THE LIVE OUTLET! I can't believe this is the right way they build these things! It is so dangerous. Does this setup look right to you guys? This just seems like an accident waiting up happen. Im just venting here kinda because i can't call anyone till Monday but any input is appreciated. Thanks.

- Justin

unfortunately nothing new . This is common and has been for decades .
I've seen whole distribution panels with water lines, pumps, water heaters right behind them with water lines running over panels and outlets .

Sorry to hear of your problem and I’m glad you’re safe. Welcome to the RV world, where design and construction often defies logic.

I know you didn’t mean it…….

RV, design, construction and logic, all in the same sentence?

“defies” doesn’t seem strong enough a word.

I've seen several this way.
Glad you were there to notice.
Did something actually leak and cause the issue?
It could have been caused by loose connections and had nothing to do with water or location.

Thank you. Yeah it was the tubes hanging above it that leaked and caused the fire. We called someone that came to fix it the next day for $280 out of pocket but my wife called the Puma dealership and they are actually going to send us a check to reimburse it so that's helpful. It's can be a tough learning experience sometimes with rving full time lol. Main thing is we're all ok.
