water hose length

What should be a "good length" of water hose to have when we do a city water hookup for our 5th wheel ? 25 ? 50 ? 75 ? 100? i would rather not take or carry too much extra hose

I carry 2, 25ft hoses along with a pressure regulator and find that very adequate for most places. I also carry a 20 and 10 ft sewer hose and a coupler if ever needed.

I think the potable hoses usually come in 25 ft lengths. I always have two "in use" and two brand-new ones for backup. I've had these hoses spring a leak (once in the middle of the night..."Honey, do you hear that hissing noise?"...as it sprayed the bedroom window).

One place we went I think the water spigot was exactly 51ft from the pad. Having an extra sure was nice. So when one goes bad I'm ready then at the first opportunity I get a replacement.

BTW, I've found that some of the 10ft and 3ft hoses can come in handy at times as well.

Never needed more than 25 ft, but I do have the hose provided with the TT as a backup if needed.

We carry a 25 and a 50, and will likely pick up a 10 for the next season. For the most part, the 25 is in use, but many of the newer RV parks are well laid out in terms of the hookups, so a 10 would do nicely.

We got a 25 with the camper starter kit, and I picked up another 25 before leaving for the first night out in the new camper. Glad we did. Had to use all 50 feet with none to spare.

That's been enough except for last weekend. Needed an extra 3 feet, and borrowed a 10ft hose from a buddy camping a few hundred yards away. Now I'm Thinking of getting an extra 25' hose as backup. We don't use much water in the A-Frame but it is nice to be hooked up.

A 25 foot hose have been more than enough for me so far. I do carry a second hose just in case too.

Most places you will only need one, but I have need 50ft in a couple of places. I carry 2 25ft hoses

I have 3 25 footers. I have used them all on a couple occasions.
Having 3 short hoses is preferable to one long one because as many have
said, you only need 25 at lots of places and it's just easier to get out and
put away a short hose.

Plus even though you use RV safe hose it can put a taste in the water.
This is especially true if it's laying in the hot sun. Longer hose = more
plastic taste so the shortest you can get by with is preferable.

Yep, Dan nailed it for drinking water. 2-3 25' footers is much more handy than a single long run. You can also have the flexibility to use a Y adapter on the pedestal to a hand hose for washing the rig (if allowed) and/or washing the dog.

I also carry a short black 15 foot hose with numerous adapters (M/M, F/F, Rubber boot w/clamp to F) and an on/off valve connected to a one way check valve for the Turboflush. I can't tell you the number of dump stations I have found with crushed ends; severed ends; and flat out WRONG ends on the on-potable water outlet. I only use the black hose for the Turboflush.

Heck I carry about 250 feet and have used every bit of that and wished for more. It all depends on where you park. Full hookup sites then 25 feet is probably sufficient. Personally I tend to spend more time in the NF where water is farther away,hence the need for more hose.

No wars here. I carry lots of water hose and use it all at times. I can remember years ago when we had about 600 feet of water hose strung out to get water to our four trailers.

It would take more effort to get the water out of an longer hose when breaking camp. With using two 25 ft hoses if one goes bad you only need to replace the bad one and still could use the other hose.

BTW - I camp solo so it's a pain for me to get the water hose drip free when rolling it back up. Last thing I want is to drag it through the dirt while handling it. Maybe with two people it would be much easier to handle. I brought a new kink free hose that is not suppose to twist and is easy to drop into the bin for storage. I tested it at CW and it seems to work much easier than my other hose. Will find out if it easier to deal with in about a week. Pre-Thanksgiving camping plans are back on again.

Went RVing a couple weeks ago, we usually use the state parks in Fl. The spigot was 62 ft away. I always carry 75 ft of hose.

I can't believe this, two pages on how long a water hose? All you need is enough to get from the spigot to the camper. That is the answer!!!!! Anything else is waste, or extra, or whatever. Most full hook up sites, in campgrounds, 25 feet is enough. Get a life and quit arguing over who's hose is longer.

25FT we have used almost every single time but one. Lake Catherine State park in Arkansas has some funky setups in the older sites. Power is in very back, Water is almost curbside. I had to go to Lowes in HotSprings to get a 50 footer to attach to the 25.
