Water leak in new Forester

First time out in new Forester, water leaking around the base of the toilet after flushing, should we tighten the bolts or look for other issue, (don't want to break worse)? We are out on the road not near repair.

Don't get animal on them but slowly tighten each one a little at a time checking each time to see if it stops. That's what I would do. They may not be tight enough.

A great way to check for leaks like that is to lay down a couple layers of T P under where you think you may have a leak,,, if you do still have a leak it will show up on the T P !!!

The leaks continue even after tightening the toilet bolts? Did you check the wax ring? A failed wax ring will definitely cause a toilet leak at the base. If you found that the water is pooling around the base of the toilet replace it immediately. But check properly because the leak might not only happen from the base it can be from the loose supply tube, faulty shut off valve, cracked tank or sweaty bowl. The toilet become leaky because of this reasons too
1. Toilet water supply line is leaking
2. Fill valve nut of the water line is loose
3. Toilet tank has condensation on the outside
If the water is leaking from the point where the tank and base connect then look for the connection problem. In order to detect the actual reason, you can call any toilet repair service provider and get their assistance to fix it.
Also, apply the caulk around the base of the toilet. It may help to prevent the leaks.

I do not believe rvs use wax rings. That's what I read here, but I could be wrong!

I am using a wax ring because the closet flange was lower when we reinstalled it.

If you have a porcelain stool,,, be careful to not tighten the bolts to much,,, you can crack the stool !!! Very easy to do in a home built on a concrete slab !!
Please don't ask how I learned this !!!
