Water pump stopped working.

I have a 2017 Forester 3051 that is a about 4 months old. I recently filled up (with some difficulty) the fresh water tank but now I can not get the water pump to kick in. I hit the switch and can hear an audible click but no water...tried all the faucets and toilet but nothing. Could it be the fuse?? Do I need to dump all my fresh water and see what happens? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.

There is a fuse at the pump if yours is like mine. Had to remove a panel in the bay to find it.

Has it ever worked?
Did it work during your PDI/Customer Orientation?
Is there 12v at the pump?

4 months old I wouldn't think it should be blowing fuses but you never know.

Take it back to the dealer if you are uncomfortable checking for voltage and tracing circuits. And shame on them if it wasn't tested at delivery.

X2 i had a hard time finding the pump compartment so I could winterize my Georgetown. I finally found a compartment with a huge black panel that had two access holes in it. AHHA!!! Found the pump in there too. The holes were too small to easily set up the pump, so I removed the hole stupid panel.

You said you hear a "click" presumably from the area of the water pump when you turn the switch on ???

Do you notice if the lights dim when you do so ? Maybe try, with the converter off, and see. That would show that the pump is in-circuit but not spinning, if the lights dim. AND if that is the case, leave it switched "off" until you get it checked out.

If they just "flicker" and then come back to full bright - maybe the pump is getting one trivial turn and discovering there is pressure between pump output and check valve - which could be stuck "closed."

Something as simple as looking for and changing a fuse is fool hardy to take back to a dealer. 12 volts is not rocket science. Ideas like this is why people with real problems can't get into the dealer for months! No that's out of the way, check the sediment filter behind the pump. Coulb be build junk left over.

Yes it has worked. That is why I am thinking a fuse or something blew.

Mine quit on a trip. Did not know where it was and forgot fuse kit at home. Stopped at CW. They had no clue where pump was but had fuses. Opened panel where FW drain handle is and started following wires there and found the pump and fuse in a covered holder. Changed out the fuse, all good to go.

Maybe simple and fool hardy for folks like you and I but maybe not so much for someone with no knowledge of diagnosing and repair. Which is why I recommended (if you took the time to read my post) if they were uncomfortable with checking voltage and tracing circuits, to return to the dealer.

It makes no difference if it's a simple fuse or the entire 12v system burned up when taking it back to the dealer. Their job is to fix things that go wrong during the warranty period and that includes 10¢ fuses.

If it's only 4 months old, the OP shouldn't have to fix it regardless. Don't start blaming what you deem to be 'fool hardy' items as to why folks can't get into the dealer. It's way more than that.

I think that those who suggest trying to take care of the problem by themselves first are trying to assist the OP in two ways:

1. Give a man a fish and you feed him a meal.............Teach him to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. Sooner or later the warranty runs out.

2. Traveling to the dealer, dropping off the camper and being without the use and enjoyment of your camper for possibly an extended period of time over a simple fuse seems quite foolish to me!

Just MHO!
