Weather concerns

I woke this morning to the sounds of high winds and the weather calling for chance of snow. Yes I said the word.......snow. Shield I be concerned about the new 2702ss sitting at the campsite with everything setup and in working order. When I left her 2 days ago I did leave the heat on and set to 50 degrees. But should I be concerned about the antenna still up and all the water lines full and under pressure? The low temp that they are calling for is 34 but the snow will stick and accumulate to 2 to 4 inches.

I was hoping and praying that we were done with all this and we were in the clear.

I personally would not leave the water on when not at the camper for more than the day regardless of weather. I would also close up antenna, awning(s) etc... before going home.

There was a thread here not too many days ago about leaving the slides in or out when you were not there at seasonal sites. Lots of well meaning folks voted for leaving them out. This is the reason you close up the camper when away for any length of time.

I never leave the pipes under pressure (camper OR house) when I will be away from them for even a few days. Fittings leak and copper fittings crack for no earthly reason.

I hope it all works out for you with no damage. Every time you do this and "get away with it" it reinforces the bad habit. Then one day you don't and it is a shock.

The pregnant teenager once said, "I don't understand how this could have happened? I've done it MANY times before and I never got pregnant."

this is with what we woke up with this morning. Totally discouraging for this time of the year. I was just getting ready to prepare my canoe yesterday and I cancelled my idea of canoeing for the time being

Well wife went to the TV and closed the slide and dropped the antenna.... Shut off the water and water heater. Hope everything else makes it ok.

I really do feel sorry for you guys.

This winter we only had one night where it got down to 34ish. Maybe two full weeks of cold weather... You know, mid to low 40s. We went through some firewood, thats for sure. But we didn't have to kick on the furnace.

Don't get me wrong, I grew up in Nebraska, I know how much it sucks.

But even my tomato plants didn't need replanted, they already flowered and I have several green tomatos.
