No way that your truck weighs 6100 lbs...that's about what your F150 weighed. Your truck with full fuel, hitch and a couple of people will be close to 8000 lbs. That chart you got the 3900 lb payload is a listing of max payload by chassis configuration, ie F250 4x2 shortbed, with no consideration for trim level or engine type. It most likely for a stripped XL with gas motor. Their aim is to show the biggest numbers they can.

My gas F250 weighs 7500 lbs.

wish my 250 weighed 6100lbs....LOL....i maxed out pretty much every option in a crew cab without going to a king ranch (i HATE HATE HATE that leather!!!)....with the 10k GVWR package, i am left with 2160lbs of payload...(i did howerever switch out my rear blocks to the f350 blocks, as well as add in the overload spring and stabilizer bar from the camper package)...then slapped in some ride rite bags....

I've never been fond of the King Ranch leather either. When I was looking for a truck the one I have now kept coming up and I ignored it because I thought it had that type of leather. I finally gave it a closer look and it didn't look too bad. When we went to look I was really surprised how good it looked. Now I'm a happier camper

That "Yellow tire sticker" says 2,980 lbs.... So...is it possible with the right tires... to get a max payload of 3,900 lbs ??

My payload is 2680 but I have a 5.4L gas engine. 9200lb GVWR. The diesel is much heavier.

No, Ford set the GVWR at 10,000 and said that it's only safe for the truck to weigh 10,000 lbs, regardless of what mods you do. 2980 lbs is really good for a "3/4" truck though. I'll bet once you load it up you won't legally have that much payload left. There are people running around all over that consistently exceed their rating though.

that king ranch leather is actually REALLY nice.... they use top quality, expensive hides to do those seats...i just HATE the color....

another of the main reasons i absolutely didnt want a king ranch was that they only come in the 2 tone paint....I dont like it....I wanted ONE color...matter of fact one of the first things i did was have the chrome bumpers powdercoated to match the paint....i did however paint the outer grill shell body color like the king ranch is done.. I thought the front had too much chrome and looked like i toaster...hahaha

then a few months later i look and see a "platinum" edition for 2013 that has color matched bumpers, different grill, and hid projector headlights....LOL....exactly what i had JUST done to mine....oh well...whats that they say about imitation and flattery and all that?...

I have a 2011 F250, CC, long bed, RWD, it has an empty weight of 6,570 lbs and a GVWR of 10,000 lbs. I see a pay load of about 3,430 lbs, to which you must add weight of people, hitch and every thing elso you carry in and on the truck. Then the pin weight.

But the big difference is in the way it tows that 5th wheel. I've said it before, but I'll say it again...I'm not a big believer in "night and day difference", but this is about as close as it comes. The 6.7L pulls my 5th wheel so much better than the 6.4L did. It really is a tremendous difference. If you have the opportunity, you would not be disappointed.

Also, keep in mind the 2013's are just about ready to order (I think they have the ordering guide already). No difference in the drivetrain or body design, but the amenities have changed a bit (what comes standard on different trims, etc.).

I'm impressed! My 6.4 gets 11 in town and 13.5 Hwy empty and 8.5 towing. That's quite a difference.

11 in town and 13.5 highway As posted earlier, I'm getting 14 in town and 17 on the highway. I have to admit I get that while driving like an old lady. If I get into the boost hard the mpg's go down. Are you using any kind of Cetane booster?

Your best bet is to weigh your truck. 9 bucks and five minutes and you can stop guessing.

That's great mileage. I'm sure not getting that with my 6.4.

I'm not getting that with my 6.7L! I haven't broken the 12mpg barrier yet (when towing). But in all fairness, I've only had a couple of "good" trips where I could rack up some miles. And the last one back was interrupted by three blowouts on the way back. What a horrible day!
