Angry What a Joke

Forest River Says "It is our mission to help all our customers enjoy their outdoor activities to the fullest." But this is a joke. We bought a 2010 Salem and recently found a rear window that has a small stress crack in the bottom corner. After taking it to the dealer and having them send pictures to forest river they tell us that it is declined under warranty. If this is how they stand behind their product it will be the last forest river product I buy.

How do you know it is a "stress crack"? I don't think I have heard of that before. If it was a flaw in the glass from the factory, it should have showed up before now.
I can see why FR would decline the repair, as they have no idea how it broke. And if that is your only issue, I would say you have little to complain about.

I just noticed that you said you had an accident with the camper a month ago. Maybe your window "stress crack" is from that? And you want warranty? It appears obvious that you are here only to slag the company, and have no intention of being an honest contributor.

I am not here to slag the company. I have fixed many small things with this Rv but i feel this is one thing they should stand behind. So yes I HAVE been honest and reported it to the dealer right away when I first noticed it.

Maybe someone should complain about this company.
BBB processed a total of 42 complaints about this company in the last 36 months.

Don't you think that is a lot of complaints?

My wildcat 5er was app. 9 months old when i parked it in my back yard. everything was ok, 2 days later as i was walking by i noticed my big side window was cracked roughly 6" from the top all the way to the bottom, i looked to see if something had hit it and there was was'nt a mark on it. I took it to the dealer and they called it a stress fracture and e-mailed forest river photo's, a week later they were putting in a new window under warranty , i guess it comes down to who you talk to and who they talk to, o yeah the dealer i took it to was not the dealer i bought it from.

Basically 15 customers out of thousands of forest river units on the road, I would say thats a pretty good record. But I do agree your window should be replaced.

Wow, with all of the 1000s of campers they manufacture every year, I thought that figure would be a lot higher. Not bad, except for those people that couldn't get their issues resolved.

I would venture to guess that all the other RV manufacturers out there have similar numbers. Out of the 1000s of Winnebagos, Fleetwoods, Monacos, etc. out there I have heard of a lot of complaints about all of them but you never hear from the happy campers.

The only thing Forest River stands behind is a desk where they can hide.

That's hardly a lot of complaints considering how many units they sell. But they all seem to be posting on these forums!
As for the crack in the glass, I didn't realise you were talking about the cheap square windows, as it is not uncommon for those to crack near the corners. That is one of the reasons why I bought a better camper with the good windows. You get what you pay for.

Something ain't right here.

FR is standing behind their work and repair units, even some out of warranty.

There must be some lack of communications going on.

Example:
Rockwood, Flagstaff, Surveyor RV Owners Forums - Delamination issues

Rockwood, Flagstaff, Surveyor RV Owners Forums - Flagstaff 831QBSS

I do agree that you never hear from the happy people no matter what business your in. I just feel that you should never have to resort to the BBB to resolve an issue. I have left messages for forest river but with no response yet. Will keep trying though. I do like the RV a lot but would just like the manufacturer to be a little better about dealing with issues
